I love these names. Though I would never name a daughter Nala AND a son Simba of course.
What do you think though?
Nala is so pretty but does it still scream Lion King?
Simba is cute I think. But I think that screams Lion King even more, and I wonder how people would react to a boy named Simba that had no African heritage?

It could work for a pair of cats, though. Not on kids.

Simba is The Lion King, and the boy will always have that stigma. I do like Nala and think it could work b/c her name is less known than Simba.

I like Nala and without Simba next to it i don't think i would have really thought Lion King, even though i love the film. Simba is way too Lion KIng though and together its so much worse. I see nothing wrong with Nala though and its not common at all which i see as a plus

I think Simba is too Lion King. Nala is ok, but I would never use it, and its way to close to my dog's name (Nola)

I think Nala is usable. It doesn't scream "Lion King" to me because I knew of a goat and a horse with the name. I think it is very pretty but I wouldn't use it personally.
I don't think Simba is usable at all (except for a pet cat!).

Nala I think is passable as a "real" name. Yes, there would be comments about "The Lion King" but not as much as with Simba, I don't think. Simba is more heavily connected with it, and seems like much less of a real-life name than Nala, imo. Simba is very African, and would seem odd on a non-African boy (or anyone who's not a cat, actually :-/). I know several house cats named Simba and Nala, though, so be aware that people might constantly say, 'Hey, that's my cat's name.' LOL.

I like Nala, but not Simba.

Maybe because I associate it with the fact that The Lion King was plagarizes from a show about a lion named Kimba. But I also think that people would associate a Simba with that movie.

I didn't know about the Kimba thing. I thought they just got it from the fact that Simba means "lion". :-/

I LOVE the names Nala, and Simba. I'd use Nala on a girl if I like dit that much. Simba is cute but I just can't picutre it on a person. Nala I could though I love Nala!
