I only used caps because you did. I thought it was sort of funny. I'm so sorry that I seemed to be attacking you. I don't take these kinds of opinion differences very seriously, so I felt like my "ranting" tone would seem silly.
If you had been the only one who associated Olive with olives to eat, I probably would not have even replied. You just seemed to say it most strongly, so I responded to you with my objection.
I don't think my opinion is bigger than yours. If you (and almost everyone else, haha) associate it with food, there's not a whole lot I can do about it. It just disappoints me that people don't think of the tree, because if you do, the name is so much nicer. And to me, the tree thing is really a strong association so it's hard for me to imagine how people can think of the fruit but not the tree. I'm not attached to the name and wouldn't use it, I just am trying to get people to see it more positively.
