Baby girls name Opinions please:)
My father in law suggested the name Gali (prn Gah-Lee) as a middle name for our first baby girl. We have pretty much decided on Grace Victoria (Grace is my pick, Victoria is daddy and big brothers choice)... Does Grace Victoria Gali Lastname sound good? We would like to have a second middle name as I'm sure Grace and Victoria even together is probably a somewhat common pick, but it's the ones we loved... What is your opinion?

And what about only Victoria Gali. What do you mean Gali?
Thanks everyone!
I was trying to get a feel on what most people would think...I never heard of the name myself and thought it was a bit odd, but wondered about others...I'm thinking it might be better to ask again and see if we can't get another name out of him! But thanks for everyone's input!

No, he doesn't:) and our oldest son is already named after him, J just wanted him to pick a middle name for our daughter, because he always wanted a daughter and was soooo thrilled at getting a granddaughter:)
I think Grace Gali Victoria sounds better. But either way is fine.
Gali makes me think of a polite person with a very broad accent trying to say 'Golly!'. And I would avoid it at all costs.
Not knowing your ln, or how long it is, it's hard to judge the flow. I far prefer Victoria to Grace, so if your FIL insists, I'd swallow the two G names next to each other and go for Victoria Gali Grace LN.

I'm not saying that I like the name Gali or that I would ever encourage you to use it as a first name. But as a second middle name, sure, why not? It will make your daughter more distinctive name-wise, and give her more individuality than if you omit it. And it would be a nice gesture towards your father-in-law if you use it. I'm not saying that it would be "honoring" him, since using a name that another chooses is not my idea of honoring that person, but still it would be a nice gesture. Most people will never have any idea it's her second middle name, anyway, so don't worry that it's too strange. Even so, I do still believe that it will confer some extra individuality onto her.
I think you should just drop Gali; no idea how your father-in-law thought of that name (or where he'd heard it from).
Grace Victoria is a little plain, but lovely.
I don't really like Gali - it seems made up and honestly, I'd probably just assume it was a typo for Gail!

I think Grace Victoria is a nice combo, not something I'd ever use, but it sounds good. Gali would just ruin it, it sounds odd and out of place.
I think Grace Victoria is lovely as it is. Gali just sounds odd to me, don't like it, sorry.
Agree 100 %
I hear "golly" when I say it. I don't like it.
