Re: No One Likes It But Me
I like Claudia, Frederick nn Freddy, and Leigh to a certain extent. People don't seem to like Sally (as a nn for Sarah or on its own), Polly (as a nn for Mary or on its own), and a lot of people seem to think my love for Annie is plain weird. As for boys' names, well I don't think about them as much or have as many favorites, but I remember mentioning Alden (a name I really do like) here and people thinking it was a) trendy/contrived/too like Aidan or b) old mannish

Sally, Polly and Annie are all nice imo. I especially like Annie out of the three actually, a very cute name for a little girl, but sounds strong on a woman.

I like Annie, and I think Alden is ok. I prefer the similar Alton though.

I really like the name Polly as a nickname for Mary. :)

I didn't like Sally at all until my niece was born. Now, I love it.I like Polly on its own, without Mary. I don't think most people these days would make the link, so we might as well just use Polly, IMO. I don't think your love for Annie is weird, but it isn't one of my favorite names. It's okay.I knew an Alden in high school, and he acted like an old man, so I agree that it's old mannish. Sorry.
