I like Claudia, Frederick nn Freddy, and Leigh to a certain extent.
People don't seem to like Sally (as a nn for Sarah or on its own), Polly (as a nn for Mary or on its own), and a lot of people seem to think my love for Annie is plain weird.
As for boys' names, well I don't think about them as much or have as many favorites, but I remember mentioning Alden (a name I really do like) here and people thinking it was a) trendy/contrived/too like Aidan or b) old mannish

I really like the name Polly as a nickname for Mary. :)
I didn't like Sally at all until my niece was born. Now, I love it.
I like Polly on its own, without Mary. I don't think most people these days would make the link, so we might as well just use Polly, IMO. I don't think your love for Annie is weird, but it isn't one of my favorite names. It's okay.
I knew an Alden in high school, and he acted like an old man, so I agree that it's old mannish. Sorry.
