for alliterated twins/trips/quads? I never understand the "what would you name twin girls" questions. Why would I name them anything different than if I two daughters from two separate pregnancies? I don't get it.
So yeah. 4 As is totally dumb to me. What, you don't think people are going to notice that there are four kids the same age in the family? Let's make sure they realize we have quadruplets by naming them all with the same letter. It'll be awesome. Presumably there were two people involved in the naming...shouldn't at least one of them have had better sense? Oh wait, nope, they are already senseless on the Brian/Bryan front.
Sigh. Opportunity wasted.

I can understand asking "what would you name twins" because I probably would name multiples differently from how I'd name singletons,but for the opposite reason, I wouldn't want them to match.
For example my top boys include August and Julian which I would consider usable for siblings, but cheesy on twins.

I agree on "opportunity wasted". If I were having quads, I would use four names I've always loved, and damn the stupid themes. I've never been into themes, anyway.

I don't mind when people name their twins names that begin with the same letter. Even triplets doesn't seem too annoying, although it's stretching the annoyance factor a little, but naming quads with alliterative names is just too much.

I can think of two possible reasons that people would use alliterative (or rhyming) names for their multiples. One is just that they think it's cute and match-y, and they're not necessarily thinking of the kids living their lives with similar names.
The other one is the bond that multiples feel. I'm not a multiple and I don't have any as kids but I've heard various stories about how close they feel and I wonder if some people choose similar names to enhance that bond. I don't think similar names necessarily make them feel that bond any more than with different names, but I wonder if that's in some peoples' thinking.
This reminds me of a family I've mentioned before - they named their 1st daughter with an A name (Alyssa), 2nd with a B name (Brielle) and then they had twins - so they both got a C name (Candace and Ciara). I think that is as good as reason as any to use the same letter - although I guess they could have given one a C and one a D.

Well then that leaves out the sibling with the B name. "We don't want you to feel bonded to your siblings, so we'll give them A names!" Obviously there wasn't thinking either way.

As a mutiple, I don't think my bond has anything to do with our names.
In fact, it has always been a royal pain in the derier to have names that are matchy AND alliterate. (Heidi, Holly). My mom chose them because she just assumed that people name twins with the same letter or same sound etc.
She initially was going to be unique and name us Shirley and Heather... but my dad vetoed Shirley so she went with her favorite Shirley Temple movie (heidi) and changed my sister's name at the last moment to reflect our Christmas birth date.
As for the ABCD run - totally ok with that. I love it.
My fav movie is "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" (1950) and the brothers are named as such:
Adam
Benjamin
Caleb
Daniel
Ephraim
Frank (Frankincense)
Gideon
;)

What I understand even less, though, are rhyming names on multiples (which I sometimes see suggested on the internet in general, not necessarily on BtN).

Yes! This. Thank you. I don't understand it either and I'm a twin. My sister and I don't have matchy names at all and I'm very grateful for that.

Someone (not a regular) suggested that on the facts board recently. It's not something I've ever come across or seen suggested before, and I was quite surprised by it. Each to their own! - but yup, I don't get it either.

I agree. I abhor alliterative naming.
Now, if your favorite names are Samuel and Susannah, and they are brother and sister, that is one thing. Do it.
But if you have Samuel and Susannah, and then want to have a Benjamin, but don't name him what you want because you already have two S's, settling for Stephen, then I don't really think you're cool.
Having each child with their own different first letter is much cooler.
