Honouring using initials
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but what are your thoughts on the practice of using initials to honour someone, particularly a late family member? I've been pondering it lately, as I know it's something my family would appreciate, but the issue then becomes what I use for the second middle name (which is non-negotiable). Do I use the initial of my family member's surname? Or do I choose something else that honours them, or something that doesn't honour them at all? Finally, what would you, personally, name a boy and a girl using the initials JS? I'm looking for a smidge of inspiration! Much obliged!

Unless you're Jewish (for whom this is part of their culture), I don't care for it. If you're going to honor someone, give the kid the honoree's name or nickname. Anything else feels empty, like it's saying, "I love you, but not enough to use your real name when naming my kid. I'll give it your initials and you'll have to imagine it was named for you".I'm not really into the whole honoring thing, so I wouldn't bother with another honoring name for a second mn.I can't think of any JS combos at the moment.

Like I say, I know it's something my family would appreciate, at least, and I'm fairly certain the honouree would have too, were they still here. :)

I think definitely you can honour people like that :)
For the second middle name you could use the initial of their last name - I really like that idea! - or you could use something else. Either'd work I think.J.S names:Jared Santiago
Jasper Soren
Jeremy Samuel
January SethJasmine Sine
Jessamine Skye
June Seren
Jade Sariah

I read this response last night, so I've had time to mull it over, and I must say - January is fabulous! I'd never considered it for a boy before. Such a shame my #1 is August!

January for a boy is the top of my guilty pleasures. In a book called "Heaven Eyes" one of the main characters is a boy named January Carr. I'm glad you like it!!But yeahh, you couldn't have January and August in the same set.
August is okay but I don't like it much cos it makes me think of Augustus which I think is really ugly :|

Personally, I would use the surname initial for the second middle Just seems more intentional to me. My JS names would beJudah Sebastian
Jubilee Skye

I don't feel like an entire combo has to be honoring for it to honor someone. I'd use a second middle name that had some other sort of significance, even if it's simply a name you love. Honoring is like a gift it's the thought that counts. My JS kids would be Jessamy Sarah or Jasper Samuel.

i think the idea of using initials is really cool? idk, i've never thought of doing that but it is more subtle and refreshing so i prefer it over repeating family names, which kind of bores me, to be honest hahahfor the second middle... hmmm i'd just choose something nice that fits, don't worry too much since the honouring would be already done about JS... Julian Sasha is casually on my list, for a boy :)
other names I like... Jacqueline, Jaime, Jason, Javan, Jesse, Joan, Joel, Jonathan, Jordana, Jude, Judith, Justice - Sage, Samuel, Sarai, Shane, Sidney, Stacy, Starla, Stella, Sophia.
