Expecting #3 and need help with a name!
Hello, I'm new to the site board so I thought I'd introduce myself. :) My name is Jennifer (Jenn), I've been married to my DH since 2009, and we have two amazing kids, Henry, 4 & Sienna, 2. We are expecting our third child in February and we are not finding out the gender so we need to come up with both a boy and girl's name. I would appreciate any name suggestions/opinions you have! Here are a few names we're considering at the moment:For a boy:
Oliver
Rowan
Finley
SuttonFor a girl:
Eloise
Elsa
Annabel
Luella
Violet
AriaNote: DH's top choices for a girl are Aitana or Valentina. If it's a boy, his middle name will most likely be Charles, after DH's grandfather. We haven't settled on a middle name for a girl yet, although Violet (after his grandmother Violeta) is an option. We also like Violet as a first name.Another note: DH is Latin, so we are looking for names that can be pronounced by both English and Spanish speakers.Thank you!! :)

Aitana is too "foreign", if you ask me. The name will always be misspelled or mispronounced although it is a really cute one.
Valentina is lovely though!Of the names you mentioned I also like Finley, Eloise, Elsa and Aria. I prefer Eloise as a middle name though.I probably can't talk you out of the middle names, therefore I won't even try it.
Charles and Violet are OK though. I really dislike Sutton. Apart from the fact that I haven't heard of it before, I think it doesn't sound like a name but more like a place or something.
I also don't like Luella. It looks made-up. And I'm no fan of Annabel. It somehow feels like an -l is missing at the end, but I don't even like Annabelle. It's one of those super-overly-cute names. Naw.
Oliver isn't my cup of tea neither. I just think this one is pretty boring.Suggestions:Finley Charles - although I don't really think it matches well...
Rowan Charles
Benedict Charles
Cornelius Charles
Quentin Charles
Vincent CharlesElsa Violet
Elsa Valentina
Aria Violet
Alma Violet
Liliana Violet
Ada Violet

I love the sound of Violet Eloise. I think Henry, Sienna and Violet would be gorgeous together. As for the boy combo, my fave would be Oliver Charles.

I really like most of your lists. Except I do think Oliver is too popular, though it is a great middle name that sounds good with a lot of first names so that's an option. Finley is on of my favourites. I wonder if it's a little similar to Henry though, with the n in the middle and ee sound at the end. Maybe that;s just me though. I love the combo Finley Oliver.

Rowan is okay, though I much prefer Ronan, which I think have been suggested below. Rowan is a fine name of course. I just don't like that it's a girl's name too, though I know Finley can be as well. Not a fan of Sutton, I don't think it fits with your other children's names either. Eloise is pretty, much better than Louise or Louisa IMO.
Elsa is a gorgeous name, I'm just worried Frozen may ruin it a little.
Annabel is nice but a little plain. I prefer Anneliese.
Luella is new and interesting. I think I like it. It's quite whimsical so I think a solid middle name would go well with this.
Violet is on my list. An adorable name. Quite strong for a flower name too.
Aria is also really pretty. It does bother me slightly that it sounds close to area but pretty much any name can sound like a common noun if you nitpick.I'm not sure what names work in Spanish as I'm not familiar with the language so some of my suggestions may be a little redundant. Some middle name suggestions, not sure if you wanted these but:Eloise Claire
Eloise Fiona

Squee, I like Sienna.Rowan for a boy, Violet for a girl gmv.
I also like Valentina a lot. And Elsa is nice. but Violet / Violeta and Sienna make slightly cooler sister-names.
Aitana is interesting - do you have any info about it? The only issue I see there is that it seems much more unusual than Sienna.
Alana seems to go with Sienna. ?I suggest Louis for a boy name (or Luis). It's more like Henry than Rowan, and a lot more like Henry than trendy surnamey Finley or Sutton. Louis doesn't go too great with Charles, but it's not awful.
There's also Rafael.
Oliver's a fine name, but it doesn't have the nice bright feeling for me that most of your other names, like Henry and Sienna, Violet (-a) and Valentina do.

Aitana is the name of a mountain range in Spain. My DH loves it, but my concern is that some people may pronounce it incorrectly because it is an unusual name - it's meant to be pronounced eye-TAH-na, and it could be said AY-tah-na or AH-ee-tah-na.Luis is actually my son's middle name - Henry Luis :) Luis is my DH's and his father's middle name so we liked the idea of passing it down.I'm not too fond of Rafael - bad connotation, and can't stand the nickname Rafi :/
Thanks for your input! :)

I love Oliver, but dislike Ollie. So, unless you use it as a mn, that would leave Rowan as my next choice. Rowan Oliver Charles? For a girl, Eloise and Annabel stand out for me. Joyful, dancing names.

Nice... we have some similar requirements. My DH is Filipino, so the names must be pronounceable there too (lots of Spanish flair over there). Our boy (should we have one) will also have the middle name Charles after my father. We have Evren Charles on our list (which may be pushed off, so I won't be offended if you happen to love it and use it). I like Rowan a lot, but find Oliver a bit overused and Finley NMS (not my style).
Sutton is fresh, but I know a lot of people with that surname. Eloise is lovely, and I also like Aloisia (al-oh-isha)Elsa is about to boom due to Frozen, so I would stay away from that.
Annabel is adorbs, but I would love to see Annaliese or just Anna instead. Though, it totally works if you love it. Luella is lovely and you rarely hear it. Some similar names might be Noelle or Noella, and Luana (I have an Aunt in Italy named this, never met another). Violet is actually very cute on a child. I know one and I just love saying her name. I personally prefer Viola, but I have a thing for nounish names. Aria is cute, and has the very musical air to it... so I would consider something else musical like Harmony, Melody, Clarion or Minuet. (not everyone on BtN will agree with these suggestions though). Some other suggestions:
BOYS (I also notice you seem to like unisex names for boys)
Cody
Simon
Ellis
Grant
Alden

I've never heard of Evren! I actually quite like it - sounds similar to Evan but not as common - very refreshing! The combo Evren Charles is lovely, too.DH and I are leaning more towards Rowan because of the popularity of Oliver.

Aloisia is different - I'm also really liking Eloisa.Anneliese is actually on my list as well - I love the combo Violet Anneliese, so we may use that. Ann is my middle name, and Violet honours DH's grandmother.
Of your suggestions, I like:Alden
Noah
Brennan
Dashel / Dashiell - love the nn Dash!
Aida / Ada
Elise
Mila
Liora
Thank you!!
