Ernest: Been dead here for a long time and likely to remain so. I sure enough wouldn't use it or want to be called it.
Frank: I kind of have a soft spot for it, but I doubt I'd even use it as a middle name. It would be funny in an awful kind of way to have brothers named Frank and Ernest, like the comic strip.
Ivor: Never caught on here and I'm glad.
Edmund: Stiff and cold and unpleasant.
Arnold: Totally dorky, and not in a nice way.
Edgar: Creepy and sly.
Douglas: It's not terible but the full name sounds so stuffy and pompous, and Doug sounds so puffed-up and fake-macho.
Victor: I can't really say I love it, but it's not awful. Has a bit of a creepy vibe.
Edwin: Weak, limp, sleazy.
Clarence: This is pretty nice. It's handsomest on a black man.

Ernest: No.
Frank: Kind of cool.
Ivor: What?
Edmund: Not as good as Edward.
Arnold: Hey, Arnold!
Edgar: Meh.
Douglas: Nothin' against Doug, but I wouldn't use it.
Victor: No feelings about this one.
Edwin: Another Ed- name? I thought this list would have more variety.
Clarence: Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings!
Frank: Kind of cool.

I really like Edmund and, to a certain extent Edgar, but I HATE Ed- nicknames. Similarly, I really like Douglas, but I really don't like Doug.
I know an Ernest. He's 30? 31?
The only Frank I know is in his 50s, I'd say. I've never liked the name. There's something about it that I find very unpleasant. Franklin, on the other hand, is wonderful, but Frank would probably be the end result, so no.

If this is true... I am excited. These name are due a resurgance. Ernest is so cheeky I love it!
Edmund and Edwin are no brainers since they are generations ago family names for many, plus they are an alternate to Edward, which is so popular right now.
Douglas I like, Doug I do not.
I want to be friends with Clarence and Ivor. Nice.
