A change in direction
Having a slight change in direction with names today and would like some opinions on the following names...Ewan
Gregor or Gregory - can't decide which one I prefer
Finn
James
Rowan
Drew - Just Drew, not short for anything (though I kinda like Alexandru nn Dru)
Brody
Samson 'Sam'
Eden
RoryIsla
Marnie
Maggie - as a full name
Sophie
Thoughts please
~ Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry ~

Ewan - The only one I knew was too successful for his ability, and that coupled with the way it starts with EW prevents me from giving it the respect it deserves
Gregor or Gregory - can't decide which one I prefer - I like the brisk, businesslike Gregor; by comparison, Gregory fizzles out like an adjective
Finn - too fishy
James - an all-time star, and so versatile; what's not to like, except maybe popularity
Rowan - delighted you see it as a male name! I really like it
Drew - Just Drew, not short for anything (though I kinda like Alexandru nn Dru) - Drew is a surname, if that helps! I prefer it alone rather than with the possible presence of flabby Andy hanging over it
Brody - not a fn at all to me, so maybe just a mn to make it look like a family ln
Samson 'Sam' - I dislike all Sam names, male and female alike; and Samson has got the Son of Sam lurking uncomfortably in the background
Eden - silly; you can do better
Rory - same as RowanIsla - I've tried to like it, but the missing -y at the end always bugs me and it gives off a trendoid vibe as well
Marnie - unattractive nn; no hope as a full fn
Maggie - as a full name - OK, if necessary, but I prefer more options; Margaret or Magdalen are both good
Sophie - I prefer Sophia, but only if it has the English, not Spanish, pronunciation.

Ewan: Handsome, but I'm here nor there with it.
Gregor or Gregory: Gregory is my brother's name and I adore it! Far more than Gregor.
Finn: Cute, a little overused by now.
James: A lovely classic.
Rowan: I adore this name.
Drew: 'Meh' from me.
Brody: This name makes me think of 'broody.'
Samson 'Sam': I knew a beautiful dog with the name. Meh on a child.
Eden: Resounding no from me! :(
Rory: Have you ever thought of this as a nickname for Gregory? Very sweet.Isla: Here nor there.
Marnie: I've always liked this name for some reason. It's cute.
Maggie: Sweet. I prefer it as a nickname but it wouldn't hurt on it's own.
Sophie: For me, this is the new Jessica or Jennifer. I'm seeing it everywhere and it's boring, as lovely as the name is.

Ewan - I'm not a fan of Ewan. It just sounds odd.
Gregor or Gregory - I prefer Gregor. It sounds more masculine and strong.
Finn - Love Finn.
James - It's a nice enough name, but rather common.
Rowan - Rowan is awesome.
Drew - Drew is a very cool name, and I like what you're thinking with the nickname.
Brody - I hate Brody. It screams cliche.
Samson 'Sam' - Samson is a different full name for Sam, and though I don't particularly like it, it works.
Eden - Is a girl's name, if it has to be name at all.
Rory - I love Rory.Isla - OOh, I love Isla! It's so pretty, and so unusual, at least in America. Love.
Marnie - No love. I think it's ugly.
Maggie - I prefer Maggie as a nickname.
Sophie - It's nice.

Ewan- I like it. I actually LOVED it at one point. It's handsome but feels a little weak
Gregor- feels more timeless than Gregory. It's nice and sturdy
Finn- flimsy. "Cute" in a totally forgettable and soon-to-be-dated way. Finnegan and Fintan are better
James- handsome and classic. Nothing much else to say
Rowan- sort of a cross between Ewan and Finn. Like, it's new-age soft pop like Finn but referential European with a little more staying power, like Ewan.
Drew- it works
Brody- drunk frat boy
Samson- I like Sam. I want to like Samson but it's very "big shaggy dog" to me
Eden- YESSSS! I adore Eden on a boy. It's been in my top 10 a lot. There's a local news anchor with this name. I switched over to spelling it Edan for an attempt at a more clear gendering.
Rory- use to be a top name of mine. Not sure why it fell out of favor actually. It's quite handsome and strong, but soft and poetic as well. Isla- very pretty. It FEELS really predictable even if it's not
Marnie- I'm not crazy about it myself but I respect it. It seems really modern badass but also weirdly timeless. I can picture it on someone of any age and personality.
Maggie- too cutesy on its own. A fine nn
Sophie- eh, it's ok. Better that Sophia, I think. It's just boring as all hell
ETA- if you could take a look at my post below I'd really appreciate it :) only a few names
