Elsa or Elisa?
What do you think of Elsa and Elisa (pronounced as E-lee-sah)? Which one do you prefer? I've loved Elsa for more than a year, but since the Frozen hype and the rising popularity here in Finland and globally, I've started to get a little fed up with it. On the other hand, Elisa seems fresher to me now, even though there's just one extra letter compared to Elsa.I'd also like to know your suggestions for suitable middle names for these names. I'm open to any ideas :)

As the sister of a Lisa, a SIL of two women named Lisa as well as having known other family members and friends named Lisa, I'm still struggling to recover from its vast overuse. While I adore Elisa (actually prefer it to Elsa), I'm afraid I wouldn't find it unique or exciting at this point due to the popularity of Lisa. With Elsa, it may take off in popularity due to the movie's success but hopefully, it won't. Either name is lovely (although I'd personally use the full name on the bc, Elisabeth). You cannot go wrong here.Re: mns, I'd suggest anything not beginning with a vowel.Caroline
Catherine / Katherine
Claire
Francesca
Gabriella / Gabrielle
Gwendolen
Juliet
Madeleine
Marielle
Rosalind

Thanks for your opinion and nice suggestions for middle names! Actually, I think I like all of them, except Marielle and Gabrielle (and I prefer Gabriela to Gabriella).

Elisa is my niece's name (she's Elisa Kate) so my preference is for Elisa over Elsa. I agree with you that Frozen has somewhat tired Elsa out and it seems kind of boring now. Elisa Miriam

Elisa Matilde
Elisa Grace
Elisa Willow
Elisa Lumi
Elisa Ruth
Elisa Sylvie
Elisa Imogen
Elisa Tamsin
Elisa Carys
Elisa Faye
Elisa Isabel

Both are nice, but I agree Elisa is fresher these days.

Elsa because Elisa is likely to be said like Alyssa.

Elisa Elisa a thousand times Elisa. Elsa is much more of a cow name to me. Plus the Frozen thing. Plus it's not really that interesting next to all the Ellas and Bellas. Elisa is way way fresher. And way prettier.I also really like Elise. Simple, clean, a bit spunky in its shortness. Elisa Brynn
Elisa June
Elisa Juniper
Elisa Juno
Elisa Janae
Elisa Renee
Elisa Mireille
Elisa Carmen
Elisa Gabrielle
Elisa Josephine
Elisa Maelle
Elisa Romilly
Elisa Narelle
Elisa Natalie
Elisa Camille

I really like Elsa and Elsie.Elisa doesn't sound so classy to me. I think because it's so similar to Alyssa, which I consider a bit modern and boring. Elsa Miriam
Elsa Meredith
Elsa Marjolaine
Elsa Harmony
Elsa Juliet
Elsa Rhiann
Elsa Penelope
Elsa Josephine

Thanks for your opinion! Elsie is very cute, but it seems a bit nickname-y to me. Weirdly, Elsi (aka the Finnish form of Elsie) is OK to me to be used as a FN...There are some many lovely combos in your suggestions: I love Elsa Miriam, Elsa Juliet and Elsa Josephine.

I'd choose Elisa, hands down. Elsa sounds like a dominatrix.
