I really like it! My roommate for a summer was originally from Poland (now lives in Germany) and her name is Marzena. She's amazing so it's a great association!

Woah, you don't say the r? Cool! I like it. For some reason I want to say Marzena Quinn, which is kind of random. I would also like Marzena June.

Marzena Quinn is nice!

How do you know you don't pronounce the "r?" Sorry if I missed something. It's a new name for me and I'd love to know how to say it correctly. Thanks! :0)

It's new to me too. The others are right, I just clicked the name's page. :)

Yeah. Forehead slap moment for me. I guess I need a new prescription. :0P

On the name's page, the pronunciation guide says it's "mah-ZHE-nah".

The pronunciation given in the BtN entry for Marzena says it's mah-ZHE-nah, no R. However, my understanding of Polish is that "rz" makes a sound that does not exist in English but can be approximated by "zh". So the R is technically pronounced, it just doesn't make the same sound it does in English.

Ah. Of course. I must need a new prescription. Those letters are so small on my screen. Thanks! :00

Well, in regards to RZ, the R is not pronounced at all. It does like 'zh' and you are correct about that and Mike got it correct on the pronounciation of Marzena, so I'll give both of you a thumbs up :)

I love Marzena Tatiana!

I'm 50/50 on this. I'm a Polish-born Brit, so, for me, it makes me think of middle-aged women (I've met a dentist in her 40s/50s? named Marzena) in a sort of a neutral way. Contrary to what namingzzz said, it doesn't make me think of marzipan since Marzena's not pronounced 'mar-ZEE-na,' 'mar-ZAY-na' etc.Middle name suggestions:
Marzena Oliwia
Marzena Natalia
Marzena Bronisława
Marzena Paulina
