Names from a sitcom
Here are the names of the characters from a sitcom I recently finished and thoroughly enjoyed-though In a way, I'm glad it ended. I felt that the writers lost their nack. I found myself laughing more during the first season compared to the 4th (it's final season) along with a few changes I did not care for. It was still good but just lost a bit of its charm and signature as the first 2 seasons provided.Any favorites? James "Jimmy"
Virginia
Burt
Barbara June "Maw Maw"
Frank
Shelley
Barney
Sabrina
HopeReacuring secondary characters:

I'm in love with Virginia right now. I also love Frank but as a nickname for Franklin and Sabrina is gorgeous.
Sylvia and Lucy have been on my list forever but I don't love them enough to use them. I like the sound and look of Wyatt but hate how popular it is. I think Wally is a really cute nickname but I could never find a full name I loved for it.

Barbara June - I like Barbara; I like June; I like Barbara June together. I do not in any way like the nickname.I love Hope and Lucy. :)I like Rosa, Marcus, and Natalie a lot.I do like both Dan and Mike, but prefer Daniel and Michael (or whatever) as the given names; neither Dan nor Mike seems like "enough" on its own. It could very well be that the names are short for something in the show, and I also know Dan as a standalone name is older than dirt, but I just still get that "unfinished" feeling from it.I also like Sabrina, Christine, Donna, and Dale. When I was a teen there was a lovely old grandmotherly lady at my church named Donna, and that's the only Donna I've known irl, so it's kind of hard for me to think of it on a baby or little girl. I do like the name, still.I've never really thought about Dale before, but it's quite a nice name. It brings to mind the place in Tolkien's Middle Earth, and Bard of Laketown aka Bard the Bowman aka King Bard of Dale, easily one of my favourite characters in The Hobbit book and movies.

Maw Maw isn't a nickname. At least not based from the name. Maw Maw is simply just slang for grandmother. The character is a grandmother\great-grandmother\great-great grandmother.
The family line goes:
Barbara June
Her daughter (character isnt exactly stated)
Virginia (Her granddaughter)
Jimmy (Her Great-Grandson)
Hope (Her Great-Great granddaughter)

I didn't actually think it was based on her name, for the record. A lot of nicknames actually aren't. But thank you for explaining; I hadn't quite caught the "grandmother" meaning thing. Probably haven't had enough sleep in the past week or so.
