Re: U and Y names?
Ulric - quite like this one (though I do prefer Ulfric). In the film 'A Knight’s Tale', William Thatcher calls himself Ulrich von Liechtenstein while posing as a knight. Very much enjoyed the movie and the character, so the name has some very positive associations for me. Could be nn Rick.Ulysses - I don't dislike it, but I don't like it either. Wasn't a big fan of Ulysses when I read The Odyssey in university. I have trouble seeing it as a first name, especially on a child.Uriah - I just don't like the sound of it. And it's a villainous character in Charles Dickens' novel 'David Copperfield': Uriah Heep.Yorick - don't mind it, though it's a bit hard to take seriously. I always think of Hamlet's jester: "Alas, poor Yorick!" Could be nn Rick.Yordan - I don't think I've ever really seen or heard it. Could be nn Dan.Yannick - I'm pretty neutral to it. Could be nn Nick.
