Year Two: Marylou, Rey and Ben (who is growing so fast!) travel to Russia. Marylou, who loves to travel, thought Russia would be a great first vacation for baby Ben.
Year Three: The couple decides renovating their small but comfy home would be a smart choice. They turn their two bedroom house into a three bedroom by turning a decent sized closet into a small bedroom. Perfect for another baby.
Year Four: While discussing if they were ready for another baby, Marylou and Rey decide they'd like to adopt. They were matched with a six year old girl from India. Aanya Pari Purcell has straight black hair and brown eyes.
Year Five: Rey receives an award for Outstanding Reporting which he is so proud of.
Year Six: The couple decide to get a pet for Ben and Aanya. After asking the kids what they'd want, they settled on a turtle which they named Squirt.

Year 7: At this point, with Rosalie, Petra, Ramona, Elisha and Amedee all crammed into Lyra and Damian's small home, something has to be done. With a little money saved, and a little inherited, the family moves into a bigger house that they can properly grow into.
Year 8: Much to the couple's apprehension, Lyra is pregnant again. After many long discussions, the two decide to keep the pregnancy, reasoning that they had both enjoyed growing up in big families, and one more baby couldn't hurt. Willow Hester is born with straight blond hair, and eyes that would eventually turn hazel.

He finds her interesting, and sweet, and she quite likes his almost violently red hair. As soon as he is well again, they begin dating. Six months later, they’re engaged, and four months after that they get married. They’re living in Owain’s apartment in downtown Wellington.
Year 2 (Job- transfer-move. Random- volunteer.): Sif is transferred to a hospital in Auckland, which means the both have to pack up and move to the North part of the island. Sif is happy with her job, but Owain is struggling to find one. While looking, he decides to take a part-time job. In his free time, he begins work on a script. After hearing about a local children’s theater program that needs volunteers to paint the set and prepare costumes, Owain decides to give it a try. He spends several days trying to convince Sif to accompany him, and she finally relents. The spend a weekend at the little theatre, and later go see the show.
Year 3 (Travel. Random- pet.): Owain and Sif take a vacation to Hovd, Mongolia for a week. The couple have a fun time, Owain’s favorite thing is the theater, while Sif loved seeing the cave paintings. He works as a freelance artist. Carmen is 27. She was born in Marseilles, but her mother is from Spain. She has curly, black hair and blue eyes. She has just finished her training to become a nurse. The couple currently live together in a small town in Bouches-du-Rhône, France.
Year2: ~ Pet. Carmen is given the unexpected gift of a gecko from a grateful patient who breeds reptiles. An odd gift indeed, but as an animal lover, one she can't resist. Conrad also takes well to the little lizard, whom they name Thessaly.
Year3: ~ Adoption. The two decide to start a family, but decide to try adoption first. Conrad's older brother and sister were both adopted, and since he had a happy home life, he feels like he would like to try to be an adoptive parent too. In the end, they adopt a little girl from Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan. She is under a year old, born on October 12th, and has wavy dark brown hair and brown eyes. They keep her birth name, Zemfira, but add the middle name Alberta, in honor of her (adopted) uncle Albert. She ends up with the nickname Fira too.
Year4: ~ Vacation. With little Zemfira growing bigger by the day, Conrad and Carmen decide to take a holiday to visit his family in England. Despite the near constant rain, they have a lovely time and Fira is spoilt by her grandparents.
Year5: ~ Job. Carmen is transferred to a bigger hospital in Marseilles. This means working longer hours and a slightly longer commute, but it's an interesting new oppurtunity all the same.
Year6: ~ Adoption. Zemfira is nearly three now, and the Sandfords think it might be nice for her to have a brother or sister. The time doesn't seem right to have a child of their own, but they have more than enough time and space to adopt instead. This time, they decide to adopt identical twin boys from Guatamala.

The two crossed paths several times, but didn't really start a relationship until Mark returned stateside six months later. Nika's tour had been much shorter--just 3 weeks in country. She was already on to the next big news story. They kept in touch and, although their jobs often meant they were on different sides of the country (if not halfway around the world), they grew closer and closer. Mark proposed nine months ago, just before deploying overseas again. By the time he returned, Nika had most of the wedding planned. Mark surprised her by taking her to the Galapagos Islands--a place she's always wanted to visit. Mark is stationed on the West Coast of the United States currently, and Nika was able to put in for a transfer to a branch of the news station she works for in a city close to where Mark is stationed. The two of them found a small suburban home that they like, and are busy making it their home.
