Comments for Alexandra

The name definitely is regal and classy however I have found it to be too long most of the time, and its full beauty is hardly recognised in casual conversation. What is the point of having such an elegant and dignified name only for it to always be shortened to some chavvy childish nickname like Alex or Ali? The name itself almost forces you to sell yourself short. I would also be hesitant to use it because of the connection with Rasputin and the cursed Romanov family, as well as the Greek goddess Cassandra who was also cursed.

Comments for Anya

Too short and cutesy for my taste like most 2 syllable names ending in a (Kaia, Maya and Mila are others). Also reminds me of onions.

Comments for Catherine

Catherine is perfectly fine however that is all I can really say about it in this day and age. What I mean is it's been overplayed to death. It seems Catherine is the default name now given to girls when the parents can't think of anything better to name them, which is fine, but it's just dead boring! Like cmon people, is this reallyyyy the best you can come up with? You see the thing with simple male names is that you can give boys a name like 'James' and it won't effect them at all, but by naming your daughter Catherine you are making her out to be simple, boring and oldladyish. What I'm saying is that we ladies have to go the extra mile in everything we do and Catherine just does not do that.

Comments for Charlize

Sounds made up. Also is distinctly associated with celebrity Charlize Theron who I think sort of owns this name (similar to Beyonce and Ariana for Ariana Grande)

Comments for Christine

I've always liked this name as it's classic without being boring (ie Jane, Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth) and also very elegant + dignified, without being overly dramatic or pompous (looking at you Victoria and Alexandra). To me it has a lot of shimmer and glitz, possibly because it's such a 70s/80s name but that doesn't make it dated just nostalgic I think. Fantastic namesakes as well, notably European businesswoman Christine Lagarde, as well as a host of saints and queens (also called Christina). The only pitfall I can see with it is how the word 'Christ' is in it and this may offend some people like Muslims, but I think it's classic and popular enough for this not to be a major issue. A real hidden gem!

Comments for Elizabeth

I would not use this name if you want to go into business as a woman because of the infamous Elizabeth Holmes (named world's most disappointing leader by Fortune Magazine).
The name is fine however it is lacking in the pizzazz department.

Comments for Emerson

A very hard name to carry as a girl.

Comments for Helena

Not a fan. Sounds very occultish and old school to me. Cannot see this name at all fitting a nice blonde young lady, sounds like something an old witch would be called.

Comments for Jane

Look everyone it's plain Jane with plain bangs, plain bags and a plain name!

Comments for John

Decent name because it cuts straight to the point. One syllable masculine names are generally very attractive.

Comments for Karina

Not a fan of this new age name trend of exotic sounding (and mostly unclassic) names ending in a. Karina, Katrina, Marina, Serena, Selena, Talisa etc all sort of blend into each other after a while and hence lose the unique wow factor.

Comments for Millicent

Old fashioned and not in a timeless way either.

Comments for Morgana

Please do not name your child after a famous witch. You must be asking for trouble!

Comments for Taylor

The one and only Taylor Swift!
