[Opinions] Alice, Evelyn, or Carolyn?
My husband's favorite is Evelyn. I like it a lot, but I'm worried that it may become a little too popular in the next few years...Alice. This has been one of my favorite names for at least five years, but I don't think my husband's completely sold on this one.Carolyn. We both like Carolyn. It's a pretty name, but I don't know how we came up with that one .... I guess it's the only other girl name that still remains on our list. Here are some possible first name + middle name combinations. Any suggestions are welcome. By the way, we have a fairly long Italian last name, so I don't want anything too long & 'frilly' for the middle name. Here is what I have come up with:Alice Elaine
(my grandmother's name was Elaine)Alice ? Evelyn MaeveCarolyn MarieCarolyn Rose
(my mom's name is Rosemarie)

I like Alice and Evelyn, although Alice still conjures up for me the image of the Brady Bunch housekeeper. My daughter is Caroline, which is the spelling and pronounciation I prefer, however I still like Carolyn and it's not often seen these days, so it would be unique.
I like Evelyn Maeve, but I also prefer Maeve as a mn with Carolyn. (I actually considered it as a mn for my daughter).

I really like Evelyn. Carolyn is decent, but I prefer Caroline. Alice is nms to be honest.Evelyn Maeve is beautiful. I also like Evelyn Rosemarie, Carolyn Maeve, Carolyn Marie, and Carolyn Rosemarie. How about Evelyn Alice?

I'd like Evelyn Alice. I don't know how popular Evelyn is going to become, but if it's not popular now, then I wouldn't not use it. It's hard to predict what names will become popular sometimes. You could call her Eve or Evie for short then.

This is tough! I really really like all of these. Evelyn is my grandma's name, and Alice and Carolyn have been two of my favorites for years. I think today, I'm gonna say Alice is my favorite. Alice Elaine would be lovely. :)

Alice and Evelyn are both lovely. Evelyn Maeve is a great combo.

Evelyn or Alice would be my choice. Alice is so cute and sophisticated. Evelyn is the same way. I really dislike Carolyn probably because I always have to correct people (I have had many teachers write my name out Carolyn or Carolynn or whatever) so i am biased against the name. I also dont really like the way the name looks, as I am not fond of 'y's in general, which is why Alice would be my top choice. Alice Elaine is lovely.
Alice Maeve and Alice Rosemarie are beatiful also.

Alice! Caroline would win over Alice, but Carolyn doesn't do it for me. Evelyn is nice, but I'm not really into it anymore, despite the awesomeness of the NN Eve/Evey.

Evelyn.Evelyn does look like it's going to become popular. Try to sell that issue to your husband in support of Alice, but Evelyn is a great name if you can't. Carolyn's nice enough, but it's not great like Alice or Evelyn. Evelyn Maeve is a little V-heavy, but Evelyn Rose and Evelyn Marie are fine. Alice Elaine, Alice Maeve, Alice Marie, and Alice Rose are all fine. My favorite is Evelyn Rose.

I like all 3. I think though, since you and your husband like Evelyn and Carolyn, you should go with one of those. Evelyn Maeve is pretty, and I like Carolyn Marie or Carolyn Rose. Over all, I like Evelyn Maeve or Carolyn Rose the best.

I love Evelyn and Carolyn, but not so much ALice. (Reminds me of the Brady Bunch) I guess you could say the same of Carolyn, but I'm not for sure.I would go with Evelyn Rosemarie.

Thank you. All of the input is definitely helpful. (Also ... I hadn't thought of the Brady Bunch reference). Evelyn Rosemarie is a nice combination that I had not considered ... might be a little long with our last name, but it gives us one more variation to consider. Good luck naming your little one/s!:)

Evelyn Maeve is just stunning. This is my pick for sure- love both names, GORGEOUS combo. I alos love Alice though, and Alice Elaine is very nice. Alice would be my second choice. The only one I don't like is Carolyn. I don't like Caroline, something about the sound just doesn't appel to me, and Carolyn spelling is worse! Sorry. But Alice and Evelyn are gorgeous names.

I adore nn Evie, and I like Evelyn for it's sake. :) Evelyn is very classy and I don't think it will become too popular anytime soon, at least in the U.S. Of course, that does depend on your definition of "too popular," as it is rising steadily. Alice is ok, but not a personal favorite. I love Caroline, but I don't really care for Carolyn at all. It sounds a bit too dated.
Your existing combos are quite nice. I like Alice Elaine, Carolyn Rose, and love Evelyn Maeve. Beautiful, though I like the honoring on the other names. A few other pretty and classic, but not too frilly middle names that you might like:Joy

Evelyn is lovely, and I wouldn't worry about popularity unless you personally know lots of them, it's ranked 65 in the US which is quite high but not like Emily.Alice is pretty, but I'd only go for something both you and your husband like. Alice Elaine is a lovely combo, Evelyn Maeve is pretty, as is Carolyn Marie and Carolyn Rose.May I make the suggestion of Carolyn Rose Elaine? I'm not sure if you want 3 mn with a long Italian surname but it has the name you both like, and honours two people. Best of luck!

I'm very fond of all three. It sounds like Carolyn is the best compromise but the other two are really great as well. Maybe little sisters?
I think my favorite combo is Evelyn Maeve, I like the repeated v sound.
Carolyn Marie would work well with the sample Italian last names I'm testing it out with in my head, but I like that Rose honors your mother.
