I like it. It's classy, and uncommon but not gratingly so.

I quite like Jasper as a girls' name *ducks under table*. Thinking of the gemstone, that is. I find it rather poncy on a boy ... I count it alongside Rufus, Lucian, Maximilian etc... names I find pretentious._____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

LOVE it! My very fave boy name. A lot of people think it's more of a dog or cat name, including everyone in my family who I've mentioned the name to, but I still adore it. I have noticed that a lot more people are talking about it though, which I'm not happy about, since I don't want it to get popular!

It reminds me of that old guy on The Simpsons. Also I know a dog with this name.

I think of Horace and Jasper, the henchmen of Cruella DeVil in 101 Dalmatians. I wouldn't use it based on that, plus I don't think it sounds particularly attractive.
There are cute Caspers (par example, Casper the Friendly Ghost and Casper Van Dien) but there's only a cartoon Jasper, and he's fat, ugly, and mean to puppies.
A is for Amy who fell down the stairs, B is for Basil assaulted by bears, C is for Clara who wasted away, D is for Desmond thrown out of a sleigh... !!!!!!!!!! - Tobias, Jesse, Wyatt, Shane, Preston, Maverick, Rebel, Gibson, Shiloh, and Timber... & - Andy

I love it. It started to grow on me shortly after I started posting here on BtN. I don't know that I'd ever have the guts to use it on a real child, though. It's a little too 'out there' for most, it seems. But I still love it. :)

I love it :-) It's old-fashioned, but I could really see it on a kid.

I like Jasper. I think it sounds handsome and romantic. In Sweden the variants Jesper and Kasper are used. Jesper was quite popular for boys which are now fathers, so the name is not that popular now, but Casper is used instead.

I prefer Casper.I once met a charming young man{lol} who was named Casper but constantly spelted his name Kaspar.Unfortunately he was an old friend and I love the name now.

I don't care for it. I don't find it at all masculine toned, and it reminds me of Casper, which I don't like, as well.

It's the name of one of my brother-in-laws, and before he came I didn't really like it much. But I have gotten used to it over time, and now I like it a lot.♠Charlie Blue♣
