[Opinions] Rose?
What are some good Rose names (Roseann, Rosetta, Melrose, etc.)? I really like Rose, especially since it's a family name for me, but it seems a bit boring and overused. So I thought maybe a name that had Rose in it would be good. TIA!

I myself love Rosemary. Other nice ones are Roseanne, Rosemarie and Primrose.

Rosemary is pretty. I like Roseanne, but I prefer Roseann because that's my MN.

Rose is my little sister's mn. Rose is nice enough, but I prefer Lily or Violet.

Oh, but Rose as a fn is so unexpected. As a mn it's overly used. But as a fn, it's a surprise. Like Eve, its simplicity is its elegance. And you can go crazy with the mn with such a simple fn.But you asked for Rose variants, so here's my list:Rosamund
Rosalind
Rosa
Rosario
Rosalba
Rosalie
Rose of Sharon
Rosary
Rosemary (nn Romy)
Roseanne / Roseanna
Roswitha
RoisinAnother idea is to find a type of rose tree / bush. I have "Ingrid Bergman" (red tea) in my garden. Also, "Gordon Thomas" (yellow, English rose) and "Zephirine Drouhin" (cherry pink climber). If you find a name you like, then you could plant that bush / climber in the child's honor. Just an "out there" thought.Good luck!

I like Rose as a fn, but I knew a girl in high school named Rose and we didn't get along at all, so it was a turn off for me.I like Rosalie and Rosemary!

I love Rose, but only as a fn; it's so tired as a mn already. I love a lot of Rose- names, including 'just plain' Rose (which I don't find plain at all). But I also love Rosalie, Rosamund, Rosalind, Rosanna, and Rosemary. If I had to pick just one--Rosalie.

My favourites are Rosa, "plain Rose" (but as a fn, it's so tired as a mn, even if it is a family name) and Rosalind. Rosalie is a runner up :)Rose isn't tired and overused, it's nice to see as a first name. Most filler mns are. I love to meet girls with Marie, Grace, Rose, May, Anne and Jane as first names. They're sweet and well known, but not so common to see. And the fact that it's a family name is nice too.

From my list: Annarose, Rosabel, Rosalia, Rosalie, Rosalind, Roselil, Rosemary, Rosemonde, Rosetta.I wouldn't say Rose is overused as a first name, though. As a middle name, sure, but not as a first name.

I only really care for Rosalia, my great-grandmother and the reason half the girls in my family have the middle name Rose. I loathe most Rose names and certainly Rose itself, but Rosalia is nice, and different.
