I looooooooove Alaric. It's my favourite boy's name. I usually pair it with James, Anthony or Jacme, but I don't think much about combos. From yours I like:

Alaric Marius (I usually pronounce it MAH-ree-uws, but I guess in English it would be more like MAR-ee-əs)

I think a lot of those (Democritus, Prometheus, Themistocles for example) are way too much paired with Alaric.
ETA: I'd use the nickname Al, since I love that name (probably due to Mr. Pacino). I don't think much about nicknames because I think they develop naturally, though. I guess it would get shortened with time because it has three syllables.
