Essie could be a NN for Elisabeth or Essence. That's really all I can think of.

Melina is nice. Not my favorite but not bad either. Actually, I prefer Marina. How about Melina Danielle, Melina Gwendolyn, Melina Nola, Melina Ivy, or Melina Coryn?
As for Essie I have always known it as a NN for Esther. Maybe for Easter, Elisabeth, or Estelle as well?

I like Melina. It's easy to spell, say, etc. but it's not too popular. mns- Melina Jade, Melina Opheila, Melina Agate, Melina Siobhan, Melina Opal, Melina Violet
I only know one person nn Essie, and her full name is Esperanza. It could also be Essa, Estella/Estelle, um.. Essaline? Now I think I'm just making stuff up. Maybe Esther too, but that's a little far-fetched.
