I love all three! I wanted to have three daughters and use these names. They are so lovely. I am into more quirky names now. If I had to choose, I would go with Margaret. I hear Elizabeth the most with Katherine being close second. Margaret, I rarely hear.

I guess I prefer Katherine because I chose to name my dd Katherine (nn Kate). Between the other two, it would depend on the nn because I like the nicks much better than the names, actually. At the moment, I'm really liking Ellie so I'd have to say Elizabeth over Margaret. Then again, I really like Meg, Meggie and Daisy. I suppose it just could depend on the particular day. Re: Margaret making a comeback, it could happen.

I don't like Katherine at all. I prefer Catherine, but I don't like the name much either way. It's very generic.

I really like Elizabeth, and although I don't have anything against Katherine or Margaret, I can't say I've ever liked them. If I had to chose, definately Elizabeth (Eliza would be the nn). I think Margaret could make a comback as could Katherine, whether it will I don't know but I wouldn't write it off. I hear Elizabeth and Katherine much more than I hear Margaret. That's it =)

I'm not even kidding. It's a great name, but after there are that many it gets kind of boring.
That's why I prefer Margaret.
We have a Margaret, too, but I don't know of any others.
Mary's also a great name. Mary Margaret? I've known a few of those. There's also Mary Alexandra.

To be honest, I would use all of them if I could because they are all family names for me. I'm most likely to use Katherine because it barely edges out the other two as my favorite.

I really like them all, tough choice. I slightly prefer Elizabeth. Although Margaret is my least favourite out of the three, I'd be more likely to use it because of Elizabeth and Catherine's popularities and the fact I have a cousin named Elizabeth.

I know of quite a few little girls named Katherine, some are called Katie or Kate but some are Katherine, and of course even the little Kaitlyn's out there are just an Irish form of Katherine. I hear of Elizabeth too. Never hear of Margaret though, ironically, since I would class it with Katherine and Elizabeth too. I wonder why that is.

All three of them are somewhere in my list, but if I had to choose one of them, probably Margaret would be first, and Elizabeth second. I prefer Theodora Catherine (with a C).

I like Margaret and Elizabeth equally, hate Katherine, but love Catherine. I seem to hear them all equally, perhaps Elizabeth moreso, but they do deserve to make comebacks.

I think all three are quite pretty and timeless. If I had to choose one for a daughter I'd probably pick Catherine, nn Cate or Cat. Second choice would be Margaret with nn Maggie. I don't like Elizabeth all that much and I don't like the nicknames for it: Liz, Lizzie or Beth? =/

I'll go with Margaret too, because I don't know any Margarets and I've known heaps of Katherines and Elizabeths - and Margaret has a cool dragon-battling saintly namesake.

My favourite nn is Daisy, but the poor kid would spend a lifetime explaining that, so maybe I'd go with Margot and risk her getting called Maggot at school.

I would pick Margaret simply because you don't see it as often now as you would Katherine and Elizabeth :) I would probably nn her Meg, Maggie or Mary.

I think Margaret has an unpleasing sound for some people. It's too "gruff" with the r's in it, imo, but I like it. Madeline/Madeleine seems classic as well but it's sound is more appealing to the ears.

I know of more Katherines/Katharines/Catherines and Elizbeths than I do Margarets.

Katherine, NN Kat. I love Elizabeth, but we already have one in the family, so I couldn't use it.

I don't know if Margaret will have a comeback. You can get Maggie, Peggy, Pearl, and Daisy from it, but I think those names are doing just fine on their own. It might become popular again if there is a slough of parents who want little Maggies but don't wish to use the nickname by itself (just like the parents who use Abigail so they can have an Abby).

Margaret! It's been my favorite name since I was about 14. I think it has a beautiful sound and look, it's strong yet feminine, has tons of nickname possibilities, has a ton of great history, has a nice meaning, and I can imagine it on nearly any type of girl. We plan on naming our first daughter Margaret. I'd use Elizabeth easily too. If we ever had a second daughter it's a leading contender for her name. We also like Katherine (prefer Catherine), but it's further down on the list and wouldn't ever actually be used.

I can't see Margaret ever falling too far, and it seems likely to make a slight comeback since more old-fashioned names (that have cute nicknames) are becoming more popular. I'm actually shocked that Maggie ranks lower than Margaret. I've heard of several baby Maggies (and Margarets nn Maggie) lately.

I think Katherine might be falling because people are getting tired of it and the nearly inevitable Katie/Kate. It's been so popular for so long.

Out of those three names, I think I know the most Katherine/Catherine/Kathryns, but I know plenty of Elizabeths too. I only know a few Margarets.
