I saw a woman on Cake Boss today named Sunshine too. I would go with Sunny for a nickname. Out of the "sunny" names i like Soleil but not enough to use it.

Sunshine isn't so bad. I actually like it as a first name. It's sort of a GP for me. Sunny is a super cute nickname.

Sunita, maybe? Sounds more like a real name. Sunshine here is a sort of endearment used by older men on girls - 'cheer up, sunshine'. It's the sort of name I can imagine Jamie Oliver using.

Solana unfortunately reminds me of Valerie Solanas (insane man-hater who tried to shoot Andy Warhol). I like Tesni and Solveig.

I love Sunshine as a middle name, ever since I met someone with a daughter named Nora Sunshine.

If I had to use a sunny name as a first name, though, I'd probably go with Tesni.

I'd try to be Ina, in a desperate attempt to conceal the truth.

I used to know a lady named Sunshine. It didn't seem weird at all. In fact, it suited her.

If I had to use a "sunny" name, it would be Sunniva for sure. I adore it.

I like Sunshine, but it's a GP. Sunny is better. But it sounds like Sonny. =P

I'd probably consider Soleil if I had to use a sunny name. Summer is probably the sunniest girl name I really like.
And if it weren't weird for me to use an Indian name, I'd want to use Ravi (for a boy).

I'd probably use Sue if I wanted to totally hide Sunshine.

Solana just makes me think of Javier Solana (the politician).

Sunniva. Definitey. I have always loved it. Susanna NN Sunny is another favorite. Not exactly a "sunny" name, but close.

There is a Cheyenne Indian girl named Sunshine in the movie "Little Big Man" with Dustin Hoffman. I've always liked it because of that.

If it were my name, I'd go by Sunny- I hate Suzy/Sue. If I were going to use a "sun" name, I'd go with Soleil.

My uncle once had a dog "Sunny" which was short for "Island of Sun in a Sea of Green". He was a golden retriever and then lived in the country. :o)

I'd have a hard time taking someone named Sunshine seriously, no offense to her. I'd think using Suzy or Sue would be a stretch; Sunny is the natural nn for Sunshine I think. If someone never wanted to use Sunshine, though, I think Suzy would be cool. Or Susannah.

If I had to pick a sunny name, I'd probably pick Solveig (or if you'll count it, Eloise). Or even Elanor. I'm not really into using fantasy names IRL, but it's so close to Eleanor that it wouldn't bother me.

Sunshine is a huge GP for me. I'd use it as a nickname more than a given name.

I know a boy that goes by Sunny (spelled like that) although, his name is Jamison.

I can't really picture Sunshine as a real estate agent (no offense to that person). I don't like Sunshine. It sounds too hippie for me.

But I like the Spanish name Sol, and also the Iranian name Khurshid, which have the meaning.
