I love Carlotta because of "The Phantom of the Opera"! OK, Carlotta is a b*tch, but she's rather fun, too.
Charlotta and Charlotte are nice names, too.I think Carlotta sounds best combined with another Italian name. Carlotta Giuseppina, for example.

Well, it's a foreign form of Charlotte, which I dislike greatly, so I can't say I like Carlotta any better. Even if I did, I would consider it too foreign for me personally to use.

I wouldn't ever use it, and I wouldn't want to be called it, but Carlotta is kind of a fun name. Hard to picture it on a real person though, it is just a bit too theatrical and flashy.
Carlotta Avis sounds like Avis Rent-a-Car's lot.
Carlotta Albertine sounds like they really wanted a boy to name Carl Albert but got surprised by a girl instead. Also reminds me of the hospital where I was born, the Carl Albert Indian Hospital, named after a congressman.

Oh, I love it! Carlotta + Carmen have been tops for ages. Carrie is my favourite nn, but Lottie is cute.
I'm going to go all out and provide comments on ALL your combos *grins evilly*.Carlotta Albertine- I'm not keen on feminisations
Carlotta Aveline- nice! I prefer Evelyn, though
Carlotta Avis- sweet, the slightly lavender-scented granny feeling of Avis meets daring, exotic Carlotta at a lovely mid-point
Carlotta Beatrice- beautiful
Carlotta Beatrix- even more beautiful
Carlotta Bethsabée- try as I might, I can't like Bethsabée
Carlotta Cecily- very nice
Carlotta Celestine- it's nice but feels quite long, I don't know what it would sound like with a surname tacked on at the end
Carlotta Cicely- I don't really like Cicely
Carlotta Cybele- pretty, though I dislike the 'ee' sound
Carlotta Elinor- I like it! Eléonore is my favourite spelling
Carlotta Eloise- beautiful
Carlotta Emeline / Emmeline- oh, gorgeous, Emmeline is the nicest spelling
Carlotta Ernestine- not a favourite, feminisations sound fake to me often

I remember reading a version of Rapunzel when I was younger and in it the witch was called Carlotta. Being the budding name nerd I was, my brunette Barbie was named Carlotta and she was always the witty one with the great comebacks and the good shoes. That's sort of how I imagine Carlotta, very much like you said... brazen. I think it is a nice, less common variant of Charlotte, and I too, love Lottie as a nick name. It is quite a name, so I might choose something simpler or more common as the middle name.Carlotta Vivien is my favorite given this.However... there are some others I really love:Carlotta Sibyl
Carlotta Leontine (wow)
Carlotta Beatrix
