As a full name I definitely prefer Edward but as a nickname I like Freddie much more than Eddie.

Both!I love both so much! My grandfather is Edward so I adore Edward, but Frederick is so handsome and dashing! :D Husband doesn't like it though :(

FrederickI have a cousin named Frederick.

EdwardI think Frederick is incurably dorky, not helped at all by Freddie. I don't love Edward/Eddie, but I don't have any issue with it either.

Neither, can I pick Fredward instead! Also points to anyone who gets the reference!

FrederickBecause it has a nineteenth century flavor that Edward lacks, despite the fact that Edward was certainly in use in the nineteenth century. Frederick came into style in the nineteenth century, whereas Edward had been there all along.

Edward. It's so cute. But I prefer Teddy to Eddie.
Frederick is OK, but I prefer Fred to Freddie (which I am called by some people).

Frederick. I like Edward but it's overused.

Edward. +He could be Ted, though. My sons have a friend, named Edward after his father;the friend is called Ted. (Teddy as a little child.)

FrederickIt's my dad's name (and he hates it and goes by Rick), and I think Freddie is the cutest thing. I like Edward too but not Eddie so much.
