As an Isabel I am biased, but I strongly prefer this spelling. Isabelle just seems unnecessarily elaborate and over the top. And I don’t know why, but the o in Isobel jars me every time.
I get called Isabella and Elizabeth by people and it annoys the hell out of me. I hate those names with a passion (probably as a result).
Yes, Izzy is common, Bel less so.
