[Opinions] Ella
Lately, this name has been really growing on me. I've always liked this, but I'm starting to love it. I also have always really liked Elle, but now Ella and Elle are about even to me. WDYT of the name Ella? The things that I don't like about it are its popularity, and its meaning.I think it would be kind of neat to use a name with the sound "elle" in it, because my mn (which has been passed down) is Elaine. I don't like the name Elaine, but I do like the beginning sound. Also, do you like any of these names that Ella or Elle could be a nn for, or have the sound of ella or elle in them?Gwenaelle
Bella
Belle
Gabriella
Isabella
Rosabella
Adele
Adelaide
Janelle
Elisabeth
Noelle
Noelani
Noella
Elea

I would only like Ella as a nickname for a longer name-maybe Gabriella or Isabella. I don't care for it as a given name, it just sounds unfinished to me and kind of blah.

What about Eliana?Ella as a nn for Bella seems a bit ridiculous to me because both names are short. The same with Noelle and Elle. I both like Bella and Noelle.
Other than that I like Isabella, Elizabeth and Elea.

I don't like Ella. It's a bit foofy, and it'll sound very 2003 in ten years. And it's too wispy for me--there's not much there.I like Adele and Adelaide, but I only like the nickname Della for them. Janelle, Rosabel, and Noelle I like without nicknames.Array

I like Adele, Noelani, Rosabella, Janelle. Also Claribel, Mirabel, Arabella, Christabel.Ella by itself, to me, sounds too incomplete and insubstantial. - chazda
