Message: "Ella" - Behind the Name

Lately, this name has been really growing on me. I've always liked this, but I'm starting to love it. I also have always really liked Elle, but now Ella and Elle are about even to me.

WDYT of the name Ella? The things that I don't like about it are its popularity, and its meaning.

I think it would be kind of neat to use a name with the sound "elle" in it, because my mn (which has been passed down) is Elaine. I don't like the name Elaine, but I do like the beginning sound.

Also, do you like any of these names that Ella or Elle could be a nn for, or have the sound of ella or elle in them?

I would only like Ella as a nickname for a longer name-maybe Gabriella or Isabella. I don't care for it as a given name, it just sounds unfinished to me and kind of blah.

It's pretty, but overused. I love the similar Elsa.

What about Eliana?

Ella as a nn for Bella seems a bit ridiculous to me because both names are short. The same with Noelle and Elle. I both like Bella and Noelle.
Other than that I like Isabella, Elizabeth and Elea.

I think Elisabeth would be best for the nn Ella. Also Ellen, Helen, Helena,Elena,Eleni,Ellery,Elleri,Ellison,Eloise,Eloisa,Elza,Eliza,
