[Opinions] Let’s talk about Nicole!
Wdyt of Nicole!? Being born in the 80s I always had a few in my classes and liked it. I’m still a fan now! Nicola (f) is just okay.

I prefer Nicola. The "cole" ending is awkward to me. I guess it's probably nicer in French?

I really enjoy Nicole. I think it’s pretty.

Nicole is fine. Nichole feels a bit more fresh to me.

There were a lot of Nicoles in my peer group growing up and I got a "cheerleader" type impression from it.
I didn't like it. I don't like that the second syllable is stressed.
But my attitude about it has changed. I agree with Pickles, it's a good name. Spiffy.I much prefer Nicola, though. I like saying it a lot better. It's less... cold
I have met one Nicola, who was from London and went by Nicky.

I was also born in the 80's, so I got burnt out on Nicole when I was younger. Now, though, I really like it. I've heard people dismiss it as faux-French, but that doesn't bother me. I think it's sleek and lovely and almost feline. It's a striking name, in its own way.I agree that Nicola is just okay. Never met on IRL. We just don't have them running around over here, lol.

Nicole is a fine name but I can’t really say I like it. It’s pretty bland, harsh, and cold. Nicola is nice I suppose but also quite masculine and not much better. It’s also quite dated. Nicolette is better than both. All in all there are much better French names. Nicole Stephanie
Nicole Ciara
Nicole Diana
Nicole Beatrix
Nicole Evangeline
Nicole Fay
Nicole Parisa
Nicole Alia
Nicole Saskia
Nicole Iris

It’s ok but kind of boring and dated.

Dated; I've always preferred Nicola or even Nicolette, who could be called Colette instead of any variant of Nicky, Nicci, Nicks ...

Nicola has always been more popular in the UK.I think Nicole is pretty albeit a little flat. I prefer it to Nicky.

I was surprised having heard Nicola in the UK so much. I lived there for years and did not know how to pronounce it even before hearing it there. I wonder why it’s so common there.

Perhaps because most UK people have at least a smattering of French and would prefer something with a definitely English sound?

Interesting point.
