I guess looking at the chart it should seem dated, but it's never seemed so to me. I do think it's kind of like
Sophie, although admittedly in the 90s (knowing a millennial
Julie) I was more familiar with
Julie than I was with
Sophie (I remember hearing
Sophie for the 1st time in an animated 90s movie; the character was kind of silly and had a French accent). And I get a vibe from it that's similar to
April (so, springy/cheerful? vintage in the US but maybe not dowdy).
Julie,
Julia,
Juliana are all about the same to me; it'd probably depend on the flow of the combo.
Juliet seems elegant but too associated with
Romeo &
Juliet for me, and I guess because of that, the
Juliette spelling looks weird.
Julianne does seem dated, but I don't dislike it - it's better than
Julienne which can seem foody.

Eta: I like
Julissa, maybe more than
Julianne. I've met a young one (brunette, my previous boss
Minerva's granddaughter). Also fyi my cousin has a kid named
Julia who is in elementary school; she's cute - um, a brunette, does martial arts and likes cooking, doesn't use a nickname although her mother calls her Juju sometimes. The
Julie I knew as a kid was also brunette; she had sisters with other J names, was popular in school, was fun to be around and now I think she works at a university (as a counselor or maybe something to do with writing? idk exactly).
I dislike Julina. I guess it seems smushed because I expect
Juliana.
