[Opinions] Need help for an Irish name.
Okkay, I know there's a lot of people on this board who love Irish names. I do too, however I don't know too many. What I need is a name for an Irish princess. She's pretty with blue eyes and medium brown hair. She starts out as a peasent. The only Irish names for girls I have are Mackenzie (which in Ireland is mostly a boys name) Fiona (Too Shrek like) Molly (To little kiddish)Does any one have a beautiful Irish name to match a beautiful Irish princess?

Actually. . .Mackenzie is extremely rare over here. It's only used as a last name. Molly isn't Irish either :)Some Irish namesSinead
Roisin
Aine

Maire
Assumpta
Beibhinn
Brigid
Caitlin
Caitria

Well what about Morag or Mor which means 'great' or 'princess'?
Or what about these other names that have associations with princesses:
Aoife (Eva or Ava)
Aoibheann (ee-van)
Gormlaith
Isolde
Orla / Orlagh / Orlaith / Orfhlaith
TalullaAlso these names make me think of a princess:
Meave (or a Gaelic spelling)
Maire
Caoimhe
Laoise (like Leesha)
Eithne / Ethne (like Enya or Enna)
Aine (like Anya)
Roisin
Alana / Alannah
Lile (like Lily)
SaraidHope this helps! I adore Irish names and a story about an Irish princess sounds delightful!

Yes, I'm more of a German person than Irish, but I love Classic Ireland.I'm might go with Isolde or Lile. Thank you!

Mackenzie is an Irish SURNAME. It is never, ever used in Ireland as a first name. Please don't use it as a first name, especially not for a girl.http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/iri.php is the database's list of Irish names. Most have pronunciation either in the comments or the name entry, but you have to click on them.

I was wondering if spelling is an issue for you?I immediately thought Saoirse, Siobhan, Sinead... something with a traditional Gaelic spelling. It didn't know if you wanted something where the prn is obvious, or something like the ones I suggested?
