I choose Rory!Kathe is nms, but I like both Rory and Riley. I like the spelling Reilly for a boy only, but don't like the name on a girl at all. Rory I like on either boy or girl, but prfer Rory on a girl.

my vote goes to RileyIt's better on a girl than Rory is. :-)Besides, it's more warm, dynamic, and happy sounding than Rory, and so I think it'd "fit" better in your family.- chazda"I don't want to look like a loser for the rest of my life!" ~ Georgia Ford, on needing a signature

How do you pronounce Kathe? I personally don't care for Rory because it's hard for me to say, I don't know why, it just is. So my vote goes for Riley.

I would pick Rory because Riley is SOO trendy for both genders right now.

Both are pretty trendy right now, but . . .Rory seems a bit less trendy, and I like it better with the mn.

Riley Käthe (there's an accent on Käthe :-)).

I prefer Riley Kathe. I would prefer Riley Katherine though, Kathe looks unfinished.
Personally I hate Rory on a girl, its all boy to me.x Kitty x

Neither are my style at all, but I prefer Rory out of the two, but only as a nickname for Aurora. Riley is just trendy and won't age well on a woman.

I'm not crazy about Riley and Rory on girls, though I love them on boys. BUT these are a lot better than the names you listed a couple of days ago (Jericho, Shea, etc.), imo. I like Rory a little better than Riley. I've seen tons of baby girls named Riley/Rilee/Rylie, etc. lately. GL!

I don't care for those names. But, to choose, then Rory Kathe.Riley is strictly a boy's name to me (but I don't care for the name, nonetheless), and I do prefer Aurora with Rory as a nickname (but I don't care for either name, as I don't find either pretty, and I think they're awkward sounding), and I prefer Kathleen or Katherine with Kathe as a nickname. But, I don't think either of the combos flow.

Boyish, trendy, ugly. Sorry... The mn is misspellt to me, but ok. But the fns...
What about Rilla, Ria, Rica / Ricca, Rika / Rikla, Richelle, Rina, Ronit...?
And Aurora, Aurore, Rochelle, Rodica, Rodina, Rohesia, Roisin, Romy, Romilda, Romina, Rosie, Rosy, Roshni, Rowina, Roxie / Roxy (although it's trashy to me), Rozsi, Carrie, Cherie (although it's very trashy), Florrie / Florie, Laurie, Dory...

"misspellt"???It is actually a German name and spelled correctly, just so you know.Michelle (Mo5)

To me it looks misspellt, sorry. Like Isobel, for example.

Isobel isnt misspelt! It was my grandmothers name!! Its scottish

I don't think she's saying thatI don't think Miss Claire is saying Isobel is misspelt. She's saying to her it looks misspelt. It's like Lilian versus Lillian. Neither is misspelt but one looks more correct to some people.

Rory is ok as a nn for Aurora
I think Kathe is great, but reminds me a little of Caféalice x

My vote goes to Rory! That name definitely works! I like it.

I like Riley Kathe better because Rory seems too masculine to name a girl and I think Riley better as its a bit more feminine.

How are you pronouncing Kathe?I prefer Rory because I think it fits better with your other children's names. Riley sounds a bit too similar to Kyle to me.

I pronounce it like Kate. It is my deceased mother's middle name and it's German with the two little dots above the "a". I'm not quite sure of the true pronunciation of it.~Michelle (Mo5)

The German pronunciation is KEH-tuh (with a long "eh" sound). I think it's sweet :-)_____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

Okay. It's really hard to describe the vowel sound considering I don't know what kind of accent you might have but it's somewhere between the a in Kate and the e in pet. I *believe* the final e would be pronounced also (it is in German words but names can be a little different) so it would be like kayteh or kehteh (second e like in egg). Anyways, how did your mother pronounce it? That's the pronunciation I'd use.
vote up1
See I think I remember her saying it was pronounced KATH-uh... but it isn't a soft "th" sound, kind of like a "t" "th" sound.... I'm making no sense at all, sorry...Michelle
vote up1
Although German 'e's aren't pronounced like English ones. In German, an e at the end of a word is said like 'uh' rather than 'ee'
vote up1
right.A final e in German is pronounced like the e in egg or tepid. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
vote up1
I *think* that it would be prn. KERR-tuh with umlauts over the a, although I'm not certain (I've never heard it used before).
I prefer Riley, although Rory fits better with your other kids names, IMO.

I like Rory better than Riley, but I think that's because I know a couple of Rileys that I don't like too much. I really like Kathe, too. ·•·Eliza·•·

Riley gets my vote, but mostly because I find Rory awkward & hard to say (sad I know). What about Kyle or Kylie for a girl, they're very similar to Riley but in my opinion much cooler.
