wdyt of Olympia?
I think it's pretty- it seems to be a more unusual choice for someone who would otherwise choose Olivia, like Isadora for Isabella. Could it work?

I don't think it could work, sorry. How about Octavia instead of Olivia?

I don't care for it, but it's not horrible. I just think of an older woman (like Olympia Dukakis, the actress) or the Olympics. And I don't care for the "limp" sound in the middle.

I like it :-) I don't know if I like it well enough to use it, but it's rather pretty."A guilty conscience needs to confess. A work of art is a confession."- Albert Camus

It's too much to live up to and isn't very attractive. The sound of it makes me think of blimp, oddly enough. Olivia's better, in my opinion. It's more of a name.Sarena

Hmm, I think it has a very different feel to Olivia. I can see it in a fairytale or play, but not really on a real person. Besides, the "limp" sound is unattractive to me.I prefer Oriana, Ophelia or Octavia._____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

It could work, but I hate it. I think it's ugly and I think of the Olympics and Mt. Olympus (sp?). I'm inthe middle of watching Hercules right now. lol

I love Olympia!!! I think it's such a classy and elegant name, and at the same time, so cute for a little baby!
But, some times, it just isn't the perfect name...my mum told me about a couple who named their daughter Olímpia (the Catalan form), and the girl was born more or less like my sister, on the summer of 1992...I'm Catalan and, if you remember, the Olympic Games that year took place in Barcelona!!! There are lots of Olympic babies here (sort of a baby boom, certainly) but she's the most Olympic!! ;-DI heard a few days ago that Carolina Herrera's daughter is going to name her little daughter Olympia (she's pregnant). I don't like the sound Olympia. It's also the name of several streets where I live. I don't care for Olivia, as I much prefer Olivianna. I also like Isadora and Isabella.

It's far too ostentatious for my tastes, sorry. It does have a nice sound though (although I'm not to sure about the word "limp" in the middle of it).
