Lauren or Julia
I have always liked both but wondered which to name my daughter. Which do you prefer?

Julia!Lauren always makes me think of the popular girl in school. The blonde with no brain whatsoever. Sorry, but that's just what I think.Julia is such a classic and beautiful name. =)

JuliaI might be biased, though. However, I can't stand the name Lauren. It's ugly and masculine-sounding, and it manages to be both very trendy and very dated at the same time. Julia is a gorgeous, timeless classic and it's served me well.

Julia is timeless without being in the top ten.

Julia, it's one of my favorites

JuliaJulia and Laura would have been a difficult decision for me, but this is easy. Lauren burned out in the 1990s and feels so very tired now. Julia, on the other hand, has all the timeless elegance of a classic. No contest.

Ditto.Julia would have won out over Laura, though, eventually/probably.
...Or maybe not.

JuliaAlthough I dislike both Julia and Lauren, IMO Julia is the better of the two.

JuliaJulia has so much more history and life to it than Lauren. However, if this were Julia vs. Laura I mgiht have a tougher time picking.

Both are pleasent sounding, but Lauren doesn't have the same "feel" as Julia does, whch is a beautiful, well known name with a lot of great history. Both are popular, but I think Julia is less likely to date your daughter, as it's always been around while Lauren became popular more recently. I know way more little Lauren's than Julia's.Congrats, here's rooting for a little Julia :)

LaurenBoth are sort of snoozy to me, but I just don't like the sound of Julia.

I prefer Julia. Lauren is very over-used.

Julia - it's just nicer to me than Lauren, which has a harsh sound to me. I'd prefer Laura over Lauren.

JuliaI love Laura. But Lauren feels fad-ish, here-today-gone-tomorrow. Julia, while it is pretty popular right now, will stand the test of time much better. You could sort of combine the names and use Julianne. Just a thought.

I prefer Julia, as Lauren seems more plain, popular, and overall ordinary. I like Laurel, though.

JuliaIt's a personal thing with me, though . . . used to know a really obnoxious Lauren.

I like both Lauren and Julia, so I don't think you can go wrong either way. If I had to choose only one, I'd be slightly more inclined to go with Julia, just because it seems more classic (I do prefer Julie, though).

I like them both, but I think I'd pick Julia because I think it's not as popular as Lauren.

Depends on the ln and also depends on what the mn would be, assuming there would be a mn. I think I'd go with Julia.

LaurenBoth are a little too plain for my liking, but I like Lauren (prefer it to Laura or Lorena). Julia is pretty, but I prefer Juliette/ Juliet
