Emmeline
I don't generally like -ine names so much, but this has been in my mind for a while, possibly because of Emmeline Pankhurst. WDYT?
I wouldn't be surprized if it became soon quite popular in the US, since the beginning is reminiscent of Emma and it fits in the "sweet and old fashioned" trend.

I love this name and agree that this type of name is the perfect candidate for increased popularity.

Emmeline is very pretty IMO!

I adore Emmeline (though I prefer Emeline)! I certainly hope the name resists popularity.

I've recently realized that I think Emmeline is a nice name. I overlook it because it begins with Em- like the oh-so-popular Emily and Emma. Although I do like Emma too. To me it has a very pleasant plain, old-fashioned, Little House on the Prairie feel.I'm totally with you though, I don't usually like -ine names either, and I am surprised that Emmeline isn't more popular in the US for those same reasons.

I like it, but I would never use it. "Em" names are currently very common in the U.S., and even if a kid were Emmeline, she'd still be one of the many Emmys.

yeah I think it will start getting pretty popular. I already know a lot of people who like this name...it has the whole Em thing and it is something different than Emma or Emily...also old-fashioned and sweet.

When my sister was pregnant, she suggested the name Emmeline to her husband. He began laughing hysterically, and kept it up for a minute or two while she stared at him with puzzlement and growing annoyance. When he finally stopped laughing, he told her that it was the most ridiculous name he'd ever heard, and that it sounded like something you would put into a car to make it run better.Well, I disagree with him. I think Emmeline is a very pretty name that may well become popular soon.

I go back and forth with Emmeline. Today I think its cute. I personally wouldn't consider using it, but I think it would be nice on someone elses kid.

I like it, particularly because of the suffragette link.I don't think it will become outrageously popular, it's too old fashioned for a big proportion of the population. It might get into the top 500 though.
