Betty and Emma
Ooh my grandmother just told me that she likes the name Emma! I do too! Do you think Betty and Emma would be cute as sisters. My favorite combo is Emma Jean but because of Betty Jean that obviously wouldnt work. What do you think of Emma Mae (Mae after my great grandmother's middle name)?

Emma is all right. I much prefer Emily, it's okay.Emma Mae has too much of the "M" sound for me.

Emma is cute, and I think Emma Mae works fine. I think Betty has a little bit more of a spunky quality and has more character than Emma, but both are nice and go well together. I can't help it. I get tired of very popular names (top 25) and would like Emma more if it wasn't the #1 name. However, maybe that's a narrow minded view. I frequent a blog where the writer has a very insightful view into popular names. She basically says with a popular name at least you know what to expect popularity wise, whereas with a rare name you never now when it will get discovered and become popular overnight. Since you are considering Emma, you don't need to be convinced of this I'm sure, but it's really open up my mind. I guess I got a little side-tracked. Where was I?Ah Betty...I must admit, I am one who would use Betty as a nickname. I think Betty works not only as a nickname for Elizabeth but Bernadette too. Another name I'm beginning to really like and I can see coming back soon is Betsy. And now that I think of it, with names like Lucy and Ruby being in style I can see Betty and Betsy as given names fitting in just fine. I would not, however, recommend Betty and Betsy as sisters. I'm just saying I am really beginning to like Betsy.

Betty and Emma seem a little mismatched to me, just because of Emma's current popularity and "nowness". Not a fan of Emma Mae, but it makes sense as a combo with Betty Jean. I like Emma Jane and Emma Kate as alternatives to Emma Mae.

Emma bores me to death, sorry, as do all very popular names. Still, I'd rather see an Emma than a Madison. Emma and Betty are fine together, but they seem a bit dowdy.

Betty and Emma sound nice together, but I prefer Elizabeth "Betty" and Emma.

Betty Jean and Emma Mae are a very cute sibset. Because of my full name purism, though, I can't wholeheartedly endorse Betty on its own. I'd name her Elizabeth Jean and call her Betty Jean.

Betty and Emma is a darling sibset (despite the latter's mammoth popularity).I strongly dislike the flow of Emma Mae -- what about Emma Blanche? Emma Blythe? Emma Clare? Emma Dell? Emma Fay / Faye? Emma Fern? Emma Fleur? Emma Nell? Emma Pearl? Emma Ruth?
