Sophie or Rosalie?

Sophie for me
I'm kinda over Rosalie. It was cool for a minute, but then the Twilight thing made it hip, and now it's always on here, and I met a real Rosalie who is a weird middle-aged busybody... the charm is gone.
Sophie is maybe not as exciting but I like how gentle and calm it is, it makes me think of pale silver silk. Rosalie is the new Isabella, it's trying too hard for me. Sophie's just chillin' doing her own thing.

Rosalie =)
They're both nice, but I'd definitely go with Rosalie. Sophie is waaaayyy too common nowadays.
Rosalie 100%

I prefer Rosalie. I've never been too fond of Sophie. It just makes me think "sofa" and also "soap."
yep
I agree totally... and it feels like something's missing from Sophia, which I'm also not fond of.

Rosalie.
DEF. Rosalie. Sophie's really boring... esp. with there being so many Sophies and Sophias the past few years. The name is worn out and needs to take a LONG vacation. Rosalie, on the other hand, has never been overused and I've only ever met 2 in my entire life and didn't so much as know the name existed until the middle of uni... and it's pretty and not some trendy preppy name that makes you think "Oy vey! What were those parents THINKING?!" I'd love to see the odd Rosalie running around.
How is Rosalie trendy? I've met 2 in my entire life and both are adults (1 my generation and 1 who's a grandma now)... It was #837 in the States last year (up from not even on the top 1000) and has some popularity in the Netherlands (top 100, but not top 50), but that's it. Of course, I liked Rosalie before Twilight hit the theatres and before I ever knew the book existed... Have neither read nor watched it (and no desire to)... and since a vampire movie would be more of a turn-off for me than an inspiration, my liking of it had nothing to do w/ that... but yeah... I really don't see how Rosalie would be considered trendy... doesn't really fit the style of a lot of trendy names. I think it's just popular on BtN's message board.
It just seems like I've been hearing it tossed around a lot lately, primarily due to the fact that it was used in Twilight. Anything that is rising in popularity because of pop culture is trendy in my book. Maybe my definition of trendy is different.
Ok... I figured it was prob'ly due to Twilight or this website. How many people would actually use it because of some dumb vampire movie, I've no idea. That def. would not be my motivation. BtN has names on its discussion board frequently that aren't so popular in real life, so I wondered... Things that are trendy on this board are often not in real life. That's why I wondered.
Thing about Bella and Edward though is that many people recognize Edward as a standard name and many would at least consider it anyway and Isabella was already popular before the book and movie came out, so this just kinda adds to the hype of potentially pushing some people either towards or away from those names. Rosalie, however, is rare enough that for some people, that's prob'ly the first place they've ever heard it, so it may spark some to consider it and leave others thinking it's just an obvious movie name 'cause they've never encountered a Rosalie in real life.
I understand. Things on this board do not reflect the real life name pool (for the most part.) I'm not a fan of Twilight either (I've never read it but I read a summery on Wikipedia and it made no sense.) But, considering the rising popularity of Bella, Edward, ect. I would stay way from anything related.
