Leah?
What do you think of Leah? What do you picture when you hear the name? Do you prefer a different spelling? How do you, personally, pronounce it?

I like Leah. It's a good "girl-next-door" type of name. I consider it a modern classic. I like this spelling best, but I also like Lea. And I pronounce it "LEE-ah."

I love Leah. It is simple and classic. My only problem is that I occasionally hear it pronounced LAY-uh, which sounds "wrong" to me.I have a niece named Leah, about age 35. My children have a half-sister named Leah, about age 22. Both are called LEE-uh.

Lee-a. I don't picture anything, and I don't like it much, but I do prefer Leah to any spelling variation.

I find myself crushing on Leah again lately. I love the sound and pronounce it with the long e sound although I do know a family with a dd named Leah Rose and they pronounce it LAY-uh which they tell me is the most correct pronunciation (this they were told by someone very knowledgeable in the Hebrew language so whatever). I like both pronunciations yet prefer LEE-uh. I don't care for the h on the end yet there's no spelling I like better. Lea is confusing although legit and Leia reminds me of Princess Leila. Lia is nice but the spelling? Meh. I picture someone named Leah to be very sweet and grounded. My fave Leah combos are: Leah Madeleine, Leah Marielle and Leah Juliet.

I've heard the Hebrew is Le'ah, therefore there is a tiny pause in the middle and it is more like Lay-uh. But, I don't know much about Hebrew.

You're probably right. I was just annoyed by this couple who went to the trouble of pronouncing Leah thusly while their other dd, Ariel, was just AIR-ee-el rather than the Hebrew AR-ee-el. I mean, if they went to the trouble to get Leah correct, they should have at least made the effort with Ariel (spelled it Arielle at the very least). It just makes sense to me, lol.

Spelt Lia is my name. I do like this name and where I live it is not popular. I think more people should use this name.
I pronounce it Lee-ah.

I find Leah fine but really ordinary. Sadly, I think of the unwanted sister in the Bible story of Leah and Rachel. I think Leah is the best spelling. I pronounce it LEE-ah.I much prefer LEE-ah as a nickname for Kalea, Malia, Aleah, Azalea, etc.

I don't know what I think about Leah. I like its sound, it looks okay, and there aren't any associations that kill it for me (except Leah Remini, but who cares about her) but I just can't go out and say I like the name. There's something holding me back and I have no idea what it is. Maybe it sounds too soft? But I like Lily, so hmmm.... I prefer this spelling and I prn it LEE-uh. Maybe I don't like it because it sounds like a whiny person saying Lee. "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuuh!!!" I'm not sure.

I pronounce it LEE-uh. In my accent it sounds like the word "leer" so that kind of puts me off. Also I find it sounds a bit whiny.Léa is prettier, pronounced LAY-uh. Or Leia.

I definitely like the name Leah, but I prefer it spelled Lia. It's the original Latin spelling found in the Bible.

I pronounce it as "LEE-uh" and this is the spelling I like, though Lia makes sense for Spanish-speakers. I like the name. It feels warm and sweet and simple; I tend to think of prairie scenery, braided hair, pinafores.

Leah ("LEE-uh") is gorgeous because it is one of the few names that combines strength with gentleness, at least in my mind. I love its direct simplicity. Leah is the only spelling I care for. The Lea way always confuses me. Am I supposed to say "LEE-uh," or "LEE?" Very annoying.

I like Leah. I think it's sweet and harmless.
I don't like the look of Lia, or any other spelling.
I pronounce it LEE-ah, sometimes LEE-uh.

I like it okay, though it's definitely not a favorite. I pronounce it Lee-a.
