Nessa
What do you think of Nessa? I stumbled upon it the other day and I really like the meaning (Hebrew: miracle), but it feels incomplete to me. And I don't care for Vanessa. So do you like it as a stand a lone or more of a nickname? What full name would you use if you went the nickname route? Any opinions of the name welcome!Check out my ever changing name list! http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/137889Mom to Amalia and Jon

I prefer Nessa as a nickname. It's very sweet.I would use Vanessa.Suggestions:
- Janessa but I don't think it's as nice as Vanessa
- Neasa which is Irish. http://www.behindthename.com/name/neasa

I had no idea it was a Hebrew name. Interesting! Agnes, Agnessa or maybe even Ines would work for me as full names for it. I prefer Nesta.

Well, if Tessa is usable, why not Nessa? Ness is a ln, so it's kind of like having a surname name, but feminized to be useable. I went to school with a Renessa, so you could use that as the full name and Nessa as the nn.

I don't mind Nessa as a nickname, I guess. I like Tessa way way more though. The meaning is pretty nice and I agree it feels incomplete. How about:
Agnessa
Anissa
Janessa / Jenessa
Narcissa
Nerissa
Agnes
Ernesta
Genesis
Nesrin
Nesta
Nestani

I love Nessa and Ness (and Nessie!) but don't care for Vanessa either. For fuller names I like Agnessa and Annabess (which I figure isn't too hard to pull "Ness" out of, even though I love "Annie" and "Bess" also). But I also think it could work fine on its own.

All I can think of is the Loch Ness Monster, which is sometimes called Nessie. Vanessa is beautiful, Nessa is not. If I ever met a Nessa, I would hope that her full name is Vanessa.

I love Nessa as a nickname for Agnes! It could also work for Agnessa and Nerissa.

I lov Vanessa so I'd pick that over Nessa any day. I don't even like Nessa as a nn, it sounds like baby-talk, the way Tessa and Jessa do.There's always Janessa, Anessa, or Agnes.

I'd imagine it was a form of Agnes - might that work for you?
