Unusual names
It takes a lot of searching to find names that are very uncommon (i.e. not on popularity charts) that are still usable. Maybe I'm limiting myself there but I really prefer names that unusual. "Creative" spellings and made-up names don't count. Anyone else run into this dilemma? Have you found names that fit this description?

Most of the names I like are not common names or on the popularity charts.

Florence, Geneva, Carmella / Carmel, Tanith, Nicola, Glenna off the top of my head. Seem usable to me.Guy names are much harder. Merrick and Hollis came to mind. Forest, Myron?By the way, from now on please use only one name when posting on this board (it's a board rule http://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/help#rules). thanks

If you can't find uncommon names that are still usable, it probably means you don't like uncommon names. Just sayin'.There are a ton of names on this site that aren't on the top 1000, nowhere near. There are more off the list than on so it shouldn't be that hard to find a name you like unless you really just don't like unusual names. Catch what I mean? For example, I have a ton of names on the top 1000 in my PNL but the likelihood of coming across any of them in my or their lifetime is unlikely. Now, if I want a name outside of the top 1000 I have those, too and would use them just as likely as I would use the one I like in the top 1000. I chose them because I like them, not because being outside of the top 1000 suddenly makes them likeable. Adelaida
