i've decided this is pretty much what i'm looking for:
2, possible 3 syllables. uncommon (or at least not in the top 100). striking. strong. unfrilly (for girls). perhaps a bit hippy or quirky.

so far i have Story, Clarity, Sosie, Willow, Phoebe, Coral, & Imogen as possibilities for the girls. i have August, Ezra, Phoenix, & Ronen as possibilities for boys.
