I don't really like it very much. It reminds me of wholesome folks in blue dresses with white aprons (the depiction of Lewis Carroll's Alice in the edition I had as a child showed her in a blue dress with white apron, and the bizarrely mellow housekeeper on Brady Bunch also wore that IIRC). It's a staid and prissy image. I also don't like the way it has the word lice in it; I prefer -ice in names pronounced EES like Clarice and Patrice and Caprice. The sound of it is alright though, and I find the spelling Alys appealing.
