Olympia
What do you think of the name Olympia? I was just watching the Olympics coverage and it got me thinking about it. Do you think Pia might make a cute nick name, or is it best in its full, more elegant form?

I, personally would never have picked it. But, never the less, it is a pretty name. I noticed that more less common, ethnic and exotic names are being used. So this is a good time. And yes, I like the nickname Pia.

It doesn't sound like a name to me, if that makes sense. Maybe a title or a car or something. I also just don't find the "limpia" sound very attractive.

I love it! It's beautiful. I don't like the nn Pia, though. Maybe Oly, (Ollie) if she really needs a nn. I also agree with Miranda, it would stand out more with a common surname. Another nn could be Limpi. (I think it's kind of cute....)

lovely. definitely the full form. nns should only be chosen by the person & never given in my opinion. i know too many people forced into nns they hate. & personally i hate nns

Very unusual, but it could work on the right person. It's kind of like Aphrodite in a way, very pretty and possessing an interesting history, but too "out there" to use for many people. That said, I think Olympia would be a great alternative for Olivia, if you don't like Ophelia. The nn Pia is cute, but that would sort of take away the unusualness of Olympia imo if it's used too often.I also think Olympia sounds best with a short, very common ln, like Olympia Jones or Olympia Smith.Miranda

My dad had an aunt Olympia and she went by Limp!!! Not cute at all!! Steer clear! Pia won't be nn, LIMP will.
