Re: blended names
I used to smush family names (first and middle of a single person) to see if there were any that would be cool for honoring...except I fully intended never to use them because I had made them up. I think some could be good for fantasy stories though.Examples:
Kevin Lynn = Kevilyn / Kevilynn
Donna Jean = Donnean
Clinton Kevin = Clinin? Cliven? Clevin? (Never could come up with a decent sounding one for him)
Eric Clayton = Eriton
-----------------------------------------
Current favorites:
Callum / Tristram / Benedict / Hamish
Cordelia / Winifred / Edith / MargaretVote on my name list? Pretty, please? http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/114016

I'd like to give these a go also...Kevin Lynn = Kelyn, Levin (Levan was my favorite name for a boy for a short minute in high school)
Donna Jean = Jonna (I love Johna but was considering this spelling just yesterday)
Clinton Kevin = Kenton, Evinton
Eric Clayton = Clerit, Erclay (tough. Cleric and Clariton keep coming to mind. You could pronounce the "-lay" at the end of Erclay like Finlay, so it sounds like Berkley without the B)

I wanna go at these ...
Kevin Lynn - Kevlin isn't too bad. You could also get Kelvyn from it
Donna Jean is really tough. I'd get creative with that ... Jenda? Djeana? har
Clinton Kevin - Clevon seems to work okay
Eric Clayton - Cler (pron. Clare)!

For some reason, when I was smushing, I always smushed them in order. I guess it seems more like blending or even jumbling to do it otherwise. Haha. But I guess I could have gotten more creative too.
