My husband's niece has four daughters, and they all have their father's first name as their middle name.
Seems that's the custom in the Middle East area they come from-parents both emigrated from there. (emigrated to the U.S.)

not their real names, of course, but that's enough like their real names to show you.
I would think like having one's father's last name would be enough? however, it's harmless, and I never heard the daughters complain.
