Girl Names over Boy Names
This isn't really an opinion on a specific name, but I really wanted to address it.I always find myself being more interested in girl names than with boy names. I dont know why, maybe it's because I'm a girl but I really doubt that's the reason. Boy names are easy and simple for me, so much that my favorite ones hasn't changed in years. But girl names are a different story. Does this make sense? Do you guys feel the same way? Maybe not? Me too - girl names are the bane of my namenerd existence, haha. Boy names are simpler. Girl names are harder to get right.

It's the other way around for me. I fall in love much more easily with boys names. My favourites for girls have been the same for years, but my list of boys names changes all the time.

I'm the same way. I think it's because fads in girls names come and go more often than boys.

I tend to like boy names better. Girl names I don't usually have as strong of feelings about. My taste in girl names is much more transient. I think it could change were I expecting a girl in the future... I do wonder how much actually naming boys has put me onto boy names. To my recollection until recently I had no inclination to either.

It is like this for me too.

Yes, I'm much more interested in female names and tend to like more spaced-out names for girls. I'm more conservative when it comes to boys and tend to like frumpy old English names like Edward, Theodore, Bram, etc.
I seldom fall in love with a male name all of a sudden, I usually like it because of a nice boy I've met, or because of a childhood favorite (Edward was the kind teddy bear from Tilly's house by Faith Jacques). Tristram is the only boy name I remember I suddenly started to love.

I dont feel quite the same. With girl names there are a lot I like, and I love playing around with new ones, and I have a few that I truely adore. My most favorite hasnt changed for like a decade. With boy names, I find it harder to find ones I like, but I still like playing around with new interesting ones. I cant say theres any one I truely adore above all others. Its more a question of which do I dislike least.

I kind of feel the same. It's like there are so, so many girls' names I like and crush on, and there's always something new and interesting. I do love the names higher up my list, but I have more doubts about them, I'm never 100% sure. With boys' names I have firm favourites that stay the same, but I really, really love. I don't often crush on boys' names. There are some amazing ones that I'd use right now, but in general I don't find them particularly interesting. It's like I just don't like as wide a range of boys' names as girls'. But I adore the ones I do like.

I, too, find girls' names easier to work with. But I don't find boys' names easy at all. I love only one masculine name. Then I have four or five I think are ok. Boys' names are such a struggle for me. I think the problem is that I tend to like traditional names that are a little bit more eccentric or lesser known than the straight up classics, but a lot of masculine names are either used too excessively or are too obscure for my liking. I just find there are so many more options when it comes to feminine names. With boys' names, I'm always like, "Which one do I hate the least?" whereas with girls' names I have hundreds of names I adore.

I think a lot of name nerds have a preference for one or the other. I personally prefer boys names, I find I'm really bored with girls names right now.
