Do you like Andrea for a girl?

I do! It’s one of those ‘modern classics’ (like Jessica, Jennifer, Susan, Amanda, and Heather) that I just love. It’s unfortunate that most will consider it dated—both men and women have been named Andrea for centuries and it totally still works today.

I’ve always liked Andrea but I’m not sure why. It makes me think of a smart, athletic girl, though. It’s also nice that it’s never been a name I found overrused, like Alyssa or Amanda.

Yes. I like the nickname Andie as well. But only Ann-Dree-Uh, not On-dray-uh.

I do, yeah. I have a cousin named this. Her name is said as 'Ann-dray-uh' I also knew 2 or 3 other women with this name, different pronunciations. On-dree-uh & An-dree-uh. I believe. Something to that effect

Yeah the pronunciation is ambiguous. I have an aunt Andrea, pronounced AHN-dree-uh, and she is constantly complaining about it being mispronounced. ANN-dree-uh is the most common and straightforward pronunciation in American English, I think.

Yes, I like it a lot. As long as it's ANN-Dree-A and not Ahn-DRAY-a.
