If I ever have a son, I would consider using the name Patrick nn Pat.
My dad had a buddy named Pat, and from what I remember, he was really nice.
Patrick would also be an indirect way of honoring my grandpa, who was named Richard.
Also, my hometown makes a big deal out of St. Patrick's Day, so it's a way to remember where I came from.
And, not to mention, I love the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which takes place in Paddy's Pub.
