ASH-a definitely, though it’s not super common here in Australia. Asher would probably be more common here for girls, though I only like the Asher spelling for boys personally. I don’t get a certain image in my head, of what an Asha looks like or acts like. I think the name could work for many different girls. I love the “life” and “wish, desire, Hope” meanings, they are beautiful. I don’t think “ash tree” works for it, it’s a different name.Sarah -

I'm American and I've never actually heard of a girl named Asher! (They don't sound the same in my accent but I see what you mean).
