I really Like Calista spelled Kalista. But that is just me! :) I have liked this name for years!

I like it, but I prefer Kalista.

Calista is on my short list for a reason, it is one of the most beautiful names out there in my own personal opinion. It reminds me of wind chimes dancing against an orange sunset in a gentle breeze. The perfect balance of striking and serene.

We have very similar taste btw I too want a daughter with the same name and NN as you only Evangeline instead of Evangelina, but both Eva. Most people immediately go to Evie as the nickname for the Ev- names these days so that made me happy to see.

Not sure why it seemed to miss the boat of -issa names being very popular in the late nineties / 00s. Maybe it was because of Calista Flockhart as Ally McBeal (very popular tv show at the time). I guess it's good though, that it wasn't as big - that means people might still pick it up as a baby name in the future.

I have trouble deciding between Callista and Calista. I also like Kallisto, more as a middle name.
The only thing I kinda don't like about Calista, are the very likely nicknames Callie or Lissy / Lissa.

Yeah, BtN made me look at that name more closely, it's been in vogue here for a awhile, imo.
Although -a ending seems logical and natural, I got used to Callisto, so I prefer it to Calista.

I like it a lot. I prefer the Callista spelling, though.
