2. Do you prefer it for a girl or a boy?
3. How do you pronounce it?I personally love the name, but only for a girl. I pronounce it as AIR-ee-el. What do you think of Ruby and Ariel as a sib set? I just thought of it before and decided that I really like the names together.Thanx!

I like Ariel for a boy only, and I pronounce it AHR-ee-el. For a girl I prefer Arielle (ahr-ee-EL) or Ariella.

1. Like it. Love the meaning.
2. I prefer it on a boy, because it's originally a masculine name. I love the real feminine version of this name, Arielle, on a girl, though.
3. I would pronounce it ah-ree-EL, but I'm not sure what's the proper way to say it.

I don't really like the name, at all.
I prefer it, Arielle, and on a girl. I don't like Ariel on anything at all.I pronounce Ariel, Air-ee-ul
and Arielle Air-ee-elle

Spelt this way, I prefer it for a boy. I'd pronounce it Ahr-ee-YELL.

1. LOVE it! I think Ariel is very under-appreciated
2. Girl
3. I pronounce it like you do, AIR-ee-el.I think Ruby and Ariel make a great sib set. They both have a sweet side and a feisty side (which is what I love about both names).

I pronounce the name like you mentioned (AIR-ee-el), and I prefer it as a boy's name (but Arielle is a feminine form). Ariel is one of those names that I'm indifferent about; it's not a personal favorite, but I don't dislike it either. I think that Ruby goes nicely with Ariel as a sibset.

3. How do you pronounce it? Same as you, although I often think of the word "arial." :o)I love Ruby (on other people's kids; it doesn't really suit me) and think it's ok with Ariel (would prefer Arielle), but it's not one of those sibsets that jump out at me. There's nothing wrong with it in the least, though. Both names are pretty. Do you have mns picked out?“The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. The mn's I was thinking of are Ruby Sarah and Ariel Kate. My name is Sarah Kate you see, so then both would be named after me. That's just one idea I was throwing around. I also like Ruby Isabelle and Ariel Nevaeh. Yes, I know, I like Nevaeh! hehe

Hehe. ;o)WHAT?! You publicly admit to actually liking Navaeh? You'll be ostracized! ;o) LOL. Seriously, I think Ruby Sarah and Ariel Kate are very sweet. I love the idea of naming both of them after you, too. Ruby Isabelle is quite lovely, also, and while I'm not a Nevaeh fan, I like the idea of the very ethereal name. I'd probably go with Ariel Haven or Ariel Celeste, myself, but to each their own! ;o)“The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men.
