Netflix "Is it Cake Too?" star Spirit Wallace has 18 siblings

I love Spirit. She has a good attitude and I m sure had a hard time growing up in the foster system!
The show was really fun and me and my mom kept guessing which one was cake. And I really loved the kettlebells
I love this show and always thought it was strange. Who names their child Consciousness, Free, Righteousness, Reality, or Eternity? The rest are pretty good.
I like some, but collectively, they sound like cult members. And some are weirdly lackluster considering how rare they are, like Reality and Consciousness...it's like how people use Dream, but Sleep would be dull. I don't like that Trinity and Serenity rhyme either, or the *ity *ness repetitiveness in general.
Megumi makes it seem like someone suddenly took an extreme interest in anime. Or like she's adopted.
It also seems like they started obscure and got more trendy/normal. I don't like the first six much, although Spirit seems alright and maybe Eternity.

It's like a what's your hippy name randomizer game.
Imagine being named Righteousness and your sibling is just Sky.
Consciousness is one of the worst things I’ve seen.
Which is worse, Consciousness or Righteousness?
Righteousness gmv.
Righteousness gmv.
Righteousness is harder to nickname
I almost feel both are equally terrible.
I agree, righteousness is worse because it reminds of self righteousness.
They’re both horrible, but Righteousness has a nicer ring to it. At least to me.
At least the nicknames are good. Con or Ness for a boy, Connie or Nessie for a girl.
I think Righ / Rye sounds better than Con, and Nessie would work for either.

I think drugs may have been involved at some point.
What really stumps me is J'Rai. Is it a creative spelling of ... Dry?
I think Spirit is cute but suits a dog better
I like Unity, Sky, Destiny, Harmony, Charity OK.
Reality seems like a fun name but I'm not sure how bad it might be to bear/say in real life.

I thought J'Rai would be pronounced as Dray. Which is kind of funny in that then Jru and J'Rai could both be considered derivatives of Andrew/Andre.

I don’t know for sure but I’ve been pronounced J'Rai as juh-ray in my head.
Spirit seemed really ill-fitting and weird on her, imo. Nothing against the woman at all, I just don’t think it works!

I also heard juh-ray in my head; then I started hearing it as the beginning of Geranium and now I can't shake it off.
It sounds like a member list for a hippy commune. I wonder if some of these are half-siblings? If so, perhaps Megumi has a Japanese parent. Spirit Wallace appears to be biracial or African American, but heritage can be more than appearances.
Serenity and Megumi are my favorites of the bunch.

I'm very surprised to see Megumi. What's happening there?
If those are the 13, I shudder to think what the other 5 might be. I think the worst is probably Consciousness, though Free is pretty bad. What made the parents choose Free over Liberty, I wonder.
In today's world, these names have less to do with Puritan naming history and, I'm sorry to say, more to do with exhibitionism. Or perhaps things really are so very different in the USA?

Puritans would never have used most of these names. Unity, Harmony, and Charity are the only three that they might have thought appropriate to give a child. (Well, maybe also Righteousness, though I don't remember ever having seen that one on lists of real Puritan names.)
Purtians would almost surely have thought naming a child "Trinity" was blaspehmous.

I suppose there's also a difference between American Puritan names and the ones - some of them laughable, some whole sentences - used by some politically conscious English parents in the Commonwealth period. Trinity? I just think of Trini Lopez, so might the Puritans also have associated it with Roman Catholicism? As for Unity, the only one I've ever heard of, and it's firmly fixed in my mind, is the Nazi-supporting Mitford sister and that's not a pleasing association.
I believe some of the examples of "whole sentences" used as names from the 1600s in England actually are found in anti-Puritan literature and probably were invented as ways to mock them and didn't really exist.
Obviously Hispanic culture has been willing to use certain names which even other Roman Catholic cultures have avoided. But since the Puritans avoided naming sons Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael because they thought it was wrong to name human children after angels, they certainly would have thought it wrong to name children Jesus, Trinity, or Messiah.

if there wasn't a girl named Trinity, I'd assume this was a hippie family. It's ok all around, nof my taste.
Apparently Eternity was a girl and she died tragically as a result of gang violence in the early 2000's.
Definitely an interesting lineup. I would have pegged it as the (chosen) names from a 60s hippy commune.

It seems the 60s are alive and well, or is it the Puritans? Most of these are awkwatd and unattractive as given names. Unity, Trinity, Sky, and Serenity are tolerable but not the rest.
Right
Well mom wanted 10 kids when they got married. I was the first. She told my Da he could name all the girls and she would name all the boys. I think he was going to go through the calendar lol.
I don’t see virginity and chastity on this list of names so there could be others. They are all lovely.
